Hi All,
Finally getting round to giving my thoughts on our latest visit to Roda, been back two weeks and still having holiday depression!
First of all it was great to meet so many of the Forum members during our recent visit, always made to feel welcome and always interesting to listen to other peoples views of Roda. Hope you get your house finished before Winter sets in Pete!
Seemed like a long two weeks this year, good to see old friends such as Spiros and Tanya in the Harbour Bar, Alex and Sarah in Crusoes, Lisa in Alexandros, Sandy in Sandys Arms, Vasilis and Emma in Oscars etc...
New ones deserving a mention were Pauline and George along with Andreas at Christophis, where we stayed, nice clean rooms, great hosts, really good value for money and ideally situated for us. Always on hand to help especially when our boy was not very well and nothing was too much trouble for them. Pauline's cake deserves a mention too, absolutely delicious.
Spiros and Aris at the Panorama Pool Bar, walked past this place a 100 times and did'nt realise what a great pool it was, cleanest i've seen in Roda, sure someone will tell me of another! Bar and bar snacks, cheap and tasty with a good variety.
Restaurant Thalasee, out front of the Panorama, was a new one we tried this year and thought it was very good, especially if you fancy a change, they do a wicked Madras, not to everyone's taste I'm sure, but did it for me!
Couple of revisits that also deserve a mention, Sunrise Taverna at the top of the hill on the way to Karousades, just before the turn to Astrakeri, great welcome, good food and fantastic views over the bay. Also the Three Brothers at Astrakeri, my favourite fish Taverna, again the food was excellent.
Enjoyed the Festival while we were in Roda too, can't beat a good bit of Bazouki, freshly roasted Lamb, and a cold Mythos.
All in all another great time had in Roda, not too much has changed, which is why we all like it so much, and hopefully, it wont be too long before we are back again!
Good Luck to everyone for the rest of the Summer and see you next year!
Malc, Vicky, Charlotte and Cameron
