Hi everyone! Me and my husband Eddy will come for the first time in Corfu in July 30. We will stay at Villa Valentino. I hope to love it there even if I have not found many reviews about this accomodation. I'm not very "talkative" just because my English is poor. I understand everything I read but hard to speak and write, so please excuse me if I misspelled. For now, I just wanted to say hello Miki & Eddy

Hi Miki and welcome to the forum, Valentino's apartments have had a nice facelift this year, the building has been freshly painted and the pool area and the bar both look nice. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have about the village and surrounding area, looking forward to seeing you at the end of the month. Uploaded with ImageShack.uspete.

Thx for lovely updated news about our accomodation Actually, i have some questions for you guys and first of them is if we could pay using our credit cards in local stores and restaurants. The second question is if in the village it is a good supermarket, because i must recognize that we have a small budget for this holiday miki & Eddy

Your English is very understandable, Miki - I wonder if you will try some Greek as well!
Although they prefer cash, many shops & restaurants will take credit cards now. I'm not sure what charge they make for this, so maybe other forum members can help on that one. I know that most supermarkets will make an additional 2% charge for anyone buying cigarettes as their profit margins are low and it's usually for large amounts.
There are three mini-markets within a two minute walk of Valentinos - Spiros Banos is the closest, followed by those attached to Angelina Apartments and Makis Apartments. The larger and more comprehensive supermarkets are in the village - GP Family supermarket, and the ever-open Alfa, next to the photographic shop. You can get just about everything you need in Roda, but if there is something they don't have, then the supermarkets in nearby Acharavi are larger still, including the new Diellas supermarket which seems to be ready to open today.
Hope this helps, Steve

Welcome to the forum Miki - we can understand you perfectly - better than you would be able to understand "our" Romanian! Enjoy Roda - you will love it.
regards, Kath.

Never be afraid to comment Miki Your English is fine! I am going back to Corfu next year for the first time in 14 years so I am hoping the island will have retained its charm!

Hi Miki, the tap water is safe to drink but most people buy the bottled water, it is only 1.6/1.7 euros for 6 large bottles. I use the tap water in the kettle and to clean my teeth. pete.

Jason, thx! Pete, i will also use tap water only for washing my teeth! I ask this because on the mainland, near Thessaloniki, water was visible contaminated with some microorganisms.
