Hi all Can anyone confirm if anywhere is doing Greek nights in Roda this summer (2013) and, if so, what night? We are only there for a week this year and want to go prepared. Yamas!

Welcome to the forum, redwalks - there are lots of Greek nights in Roda this year ... almost every night of the week and in maybe eight different places. There also seems to be live Greek music most nights at the newly opened El Mar.

Thanks for this, would be good to know which tavernas. Also, am I right in thinking that there is no longer a Spiros No1 taverna?

Surely it depends on where you want to eat or drink too, not just where the Greek night is? I know that would make a difference to me.
Doesn't take long to walk round the village when you get there, to suss everywhere out.

I've been to Roda many times but not for a good few years and just wanted to see if any old favourites were a) still open and b) had a Greek night? My concern was that there would be a good one on a Monday night (the day we arrive) and we wouldn't find out in time. Thanks all

Based on what we've seen so far, there are Greek nights at each of the following:
El Mar, Nino’s, Theodoros, Coral, Elizabeth, Alexandros in the Village, Alexandros on the Beach, Oasis and possibly Blue Gardens.
There is live Greek music also, now at both 'El Mar' and 'O Arabas' - both are excellent.
We were talking to Spiros (No 1) last week and he has definitely now closed. If anyone should need a long-term rent, then he has several places to choose from.

Many thanks for the information regarding the Greek nights. I will be returning to Roda 6th September 2013 for two glorious weeks and I can now make plans as to which venue we choose to take in the fabulous Greek nights. This will be my first visit back to Roda since 1999, but my twentieth time in Roda in total. I guess over the years since my last visit several things will have changed somewhat, so it will be nice to see how Roda has developed and progressed in time.
