Hi Pixie/Nadia, Welcome to the forum - I'm still a novice myself. Theo's is a really nice play to stay. If you prefer the quieter side of things try & ask for an apartment across the road from the bar as it can be noisy. Theo & his staff are great to get on with, nothing too much trouble. Just enjoy Roda, you won't be disappointed.

There is two waterparks on Corfu. One located near to Corfu Town in Agios Ioannis, which is the larger, main waterpark, called Aqualand, and the other is the Hydropolis is near Acharavi, quite close to Roda. Excursions can be arranged to visit either through Travel Shops such as NSK Travel Roda, far cheaper than Rep prices. Other tours and excursions via coach or boat can be arranged the same. It is recommended to take advantage of this to see outside of Roda, if you can break yourself away. Have fun. AQUALAND

pixie, as you are new to both Roda as well as Corfu itself and you only have 1 week, I would recommend that you only do 1, possibly 2 excursions, so as not to spend too much time outside Roda itself. Trips I would personally recommend you to consider are.... The Grand Island Tour. Boat Trip to Corfu Town. There are many others also, but as you have just 1 week, these provide a good snapshot of Corfu. The local bus service is also good meaning you could vist Kassiopi or Sidari (both within 10 miles of Roda) If you go down to the beach, you can walk Westwards as far as you can go to a lovely beachside taverna called the "Golden Sands". Walk Eastwards along the beach to the next resort "Acharavi" (approx 30 minutes) for a significant number of bars, tavernas and shops. There is also a small museum in Acharavi devoted to Corfiot life. A Taxi to/from Acharavi should be about 7 Euros. The Food in Roda is very good, including the Food at Theo's pool bar. I would suggest (my favourites), trying the following restaurants during your stay.......The Roda Park, Nikos Family Taverna, The Newport and Drossia, although all of the others are also really good as well. There are also some new businesses this year that I'm sure would love your custom. Remember, that in Roda, you are welcome to use any pool in all complexes so long as you buy a drink or have a snack in their poolside restaurants. This is a good way of comparing and contrasting other complexes and a great way of meeting and chatting to people. If you have a stroll, take your towels with you and have a dip somewhere else for a few hours. I would recommend the pool complexes at the Pegasus Hotel, Ninos on the Beach (towards Acharavi along the beach) and several others. If you are beach lovers, two sunbeds and a parasol cost about 7 Euros for a whole day. Regular refreshments can be obtained from any of the beachside taverna's. Lastly, I would encourage you to wander around Roda and have a drink/something to eat in as many of the bars and restaurants as you can. I'm sure you'll love it, like so many others have done before you. Hopefully you'll want to return for longer next time. Have a great time Tony
