A group of Crusoe's regulars got together last Saturday for the very first FGT of 2013. It wasn't publicised as even I didn't know about it. There were seven of us present with Kath, Rob, Janiemou, Andrew, Joan & Arthur .... in a pub in Spennymoor!

If you'd posted earlier Steve, even on the day of your 'meeting', I'd have thought you may have had a few more from around the NE of the UK Chris

I thought of you at the time, Kath, but I had no idea myself until we arrived.

Our very impromptu FGT at Spennymoor seems to have kindled an interest in UK FGTs. It might be a good idea to have further ones in the North East of England and the Central Belt of Scotland and maybe further south depending on demand. They can be advertised on this site, and held on a very ad hoc basis. Why indeed confine them to Roda, we all need to talk about our favourite village.

I think UK based FGT's are a great idea.
Lets face it - we all holiday in Roda at different times of the year and the outcome of that is it is unlikely would ever meet face to face with some members of this Forum.
Maybe regional FGt's as a starter would be an answer to this and we would very soon find out the level of interest in these by the response.
I would be quite happy to attend or indeed organise a regional FGT for the Scottish area members based on a mutually agreed pre-arranged convenient location and time which would be suitable to everyone.
Maybe if the idea caught on and was successful an annual UK FGT dinner/disco( God i am showing my age now!) function based somewhere in the UK and attended by all the regional groups would not be out of the question and i think would be a wonderful occassion and a great chance to catch up on all our holiday stories and finally put faces to these Forum names!.
We all love Roda, and , for a certain person ( we all know who!) to imply that UK based FGT's would in some way harm the businesses in Roda is ludicrious.
I will have apint of what he had!.
Action speak louder than words so lets get our thinking caps on and see what we can come up with.
Regards to all. David
