Love them or hate them - let's NOT get into that one again - Ryanair have announced today that next year they will be flying from Manchester to Corfu, more good news for the independant traveller, details of prices and times supposedly released tomorrow. pete.

Great to have another choice for us "Up North"!
Did check with what we have booked with Easyjet as you do, April £300 more with Ryan air and July/August £500.
So yep we booked as soon as Easyjet released flights and have a good bargain.
Still nice to have a choice and maybe someone will get a bargain with Ryan air.
Andy.

I think it's early days yet ... everything could change - I hope! The good news is that Ryanair are flying to Corfu again and what we need now is continuity of service.

Hi, I checked today from 9th june for 3 weekss and it came up with £200 each but thats with no luggage as we only take hand luggage, so didnt think this was a bad price, also checked 24th april to the 1st of may and it was £135 for 2 of us return so I thought that was excellent, but again no luggage. 20 kgs of luggage came out at £80 each so £160 in total, even without it it's still £469 for two people, still not a good price. pete

Seems to be a sensible overview, johnboy - written objectively. On my recent flight, easyJet announced that they will return to pre-booked seats from November 27th.

O'Leary backs 'standing room only' flights
Artical from Travel Weekly
Nov 08, 2012 08:05AM GMT
Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary’s latest cost cutting scheme is to create ‘standing room-only’ sections on flights. He claims seatbelts on aircraft are pointless and will not save passengers in a crash. O’Leary is seeking to create standing only cabins for students and budget travellers, selling £1 tickets to European destinations. He has suggested removing the back ten rows of seats in aircrafts, allowing groups of less discerning travellers to commute to their destination on their feet. When it came to landing, he suggested, passengers could “hang on to the handle” and would be “fine”. "If you say to passengers it's £25 for the seat and £1 for the standing cabin, I guarantee we will sell the standing cabin first. No question,” O’Leary was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph. “If there ever was a crash on an aircraft, God forbid, a seatbelt won’t save you. Seatbelts don't matter. "You don't need a seatbelt on the London Underground. You don't need a seatbelt on trains which are travelling at 120mph and if they crash you're all dead." He added: "You should be able to choose from a safety perspective. “We're not talking about areas of huge turbulence around Europe. “We don't have heavy landings anymore. If you say to someone,' look, hang onto the handle there, you're coming in to land', they'll be fine. "We operate 1,500 flights a day. They don't come skidding in. This is a very routine, safe form of travel. "

Seems H's also trying to get his planes to fly without fuel. Ryanair are currently under investigation in Spain for twice recently declaring an emergency because they were low on fuel (less than 30 minutes flyingtime) One of these days they'll make a thingy -up and them we'll know how accurate his claims about not needing seatbelts are!! Hope he's on the flight when it happens.
