Good morning from a cloudless Roda whre it looks like it's going to be another scorcher. Saw Treece yesterday & had a good natter and it looks like Kaz has made some new friends already.Becky and Nick arrived safe & well if a bit tired, it was good to catch up with her. To say last nights quiz was a disaster would be putting it mildly - i'm blaming Dot's geordie accent - sorry Kath ;D but at least the boys won the match. Ate at Estrella last night, the potatoes with cheese & ham are as good as ever. We've had a busy couple of days so it's a lazy day on the beach today. pete.

Kalimera folks from a sunny cloudless Roda. My Geordie must be getting better as we came 2nd last night against some very stiff opposition. Had a chat with Rena from N.S.K. - she told me that there is a free trip with my name on it as a thank you for the use of the photos from the 2 island cruise, will be taking her up on it as we plan to do the canal d'mor/ kalamaki beach boat trip on tuesday. The village is quite busy with lots more people around than in june, it looks like folk were holding back from booking a holiday then have decided it was a must have. Right time to try to waken the dead & go for breakfast. pete.

At the risk of boring you all to death it's another beautiful day here in Corfu where normal service was resumed last night when Debbie scored 60 out of 60 in the music quiz, the runners up scored 59 & 58 so it was pretty close. I had the very great pleasure of babysitting Eva for a short time in the morning then looked after Spiros & Angelos while we played with their rubber dinghy in the sea, i was well & truly knackered when i handed them back. Had a nice chat with Kaz last night - Steve if you read this she asks that you remember the Rosemary - she said you would know what i mean. Went to see Rena at N.S.K. to claim my free boat trip but they no longer do the Canal D'amour one so i'll have to have a rethink on that one. Looking forward to seeing Pipitsa later, she's not been around since we got here due to beeing fully booked, on that note Three rashers & family have just headed off to the airport & last night there were lots of goodbyes being said so there will be plenty of pale skins knocking about today - just hope they put plenty of sun screen on as it's still red hot here. Off for the free brekfast now then i might just manage the extra 20 yards to the sunbed - it's a hard job but someone's got to do it. ;D pete.

Nothing much to report this morning but would like to reiterate the need for sunscreen, saw one new arrival yesterday who looked like a barbar's pole and was in a lot of discomfort, it really is very hot for September.Because of the heat i've only taken 16 riddle photos so far, it's just too hot to go walkabout & even the dreaded mozzies are in hiding. My geordie really is improving as we won the quiz again despite questions about fly fishing and the death of Laurence of Arabia ! As it's already 73 degrees out there it's time for that free breakfast followed by a dip in that warm bath that passes for the sea. pete.

Sacrelige ! There are a few clouds on show this morning but for the most part they are white fluffy ones and the forcast is for another hot sunny day, we stood watching sheet lightning lighting up the sky over Albania last night but the much needed rain never came. Had a good play in the sea with young Spiros untill he snorted some of it up his nose and then got some great shots of Eva standing up alone, it won't be too long before she's leading Sara a merry dance. Completed a hat trick of first places in the quiz so our understanding of geordie must now be first class - it doesn't half make the breakfasts taste even better ! The village seemed a bit quieter last night, i suppose the kids going back to school has a lot to do with it. Right, that free breakfast next followed by the F.G.T. at The Dolphin, let's hope the talk doesn't get around to yellow thongs & pink dresses. pete.

You been on Facbook again, Jackie! There was just 'one drop of rain on my window pane' tonight - but not so in Lefkimmi this morning - two full hours of the torrential wet stuff and Kavos floated off towards Paxos. ;DThank goodness for the north westerlies ....

It went very dark about half past six and it looked like this was the moment all the locals had been praying for but after a handfull of drops it stopped, every resident you talk to is desperate for the rain now, it's hot enough being on holiday , i can't imagine what it must be like to have to work in this heat day after day after day, the local forcast is for very little change in the next ten days. Finally saw Piptsa yesterday & despite feeling a bit off herself all she was bothered about was her customer's happiness. Yesterday's forum meeting was good with Kaz showing us some photos of the village from back in 1979/80, very interesting. There's no quiz on wednesday night so went walkabout but still ended up at Crusoes which was packed to the rafters for the rock night, even the tables on the road were full,Costas & Niko, two of the local Greek dancers popped in on their way home and gave us a display of their talents, they are very good. I'll have to find some cash from somewhere now to pay for breakfast, either that or do the washing up pete.
