Hi, My name is Emma and my hubby and I are arriving in Roda on 2nd August. We are staying for a fortnight in the Roda Oasis. Bit worried about the accommodation as I have heard bad reviews but hey at the end of the day its just a place to sleep. I understand that the FGTs are on a Wed at 11am. We would like to come along to meet people and gain good advice from you which will probably be better than the reps!! Where is there a meeting nearest to Roda Oasis so we can join you ? Weve stayed at a few Greek Islands before but first time to Corfu. Its our first wedding anniversary on 7th so looking for somewhere really nice for a meal if anyone has any suggestions. I have had one good recommendation already. Hubby is bringing his golf clubs so we will be trying out the golf course. If anyone is interested in joining him to play that would be good as I will be just walking round with him (or going in buggy) as Im only driving range stage. We have not worked out exactly when he will be playing yet though. Do you think it is advisable to book a tee time before we arrive in Corfu or do you think that you can book one with short notice. Hope to meet some of you soon. Em x

Hi Emma, welcome to the forum I spotted your post earlier on Trip Advisor (I'm BiddyEllen on there), glad to see you found your way here. Afraid I'm not really into Golf so cant advise on that but I'm sure someone will advise soon. Steve usually posts about teh forthcoming FGTs a week in advance so youw ill be able to see where th enext one is before you go. I have no doubt you will enjoy Roda, we love it (prior to Roda I had been to Kavos in Corfu pre 18-30s, Tsilivi in Zante, Ixia and Trianda in Rhodes, Greek Wise - Roda is my favourite resort by far!)Becks

Welcome to the forum, Emma - who is going to suggest a romantic venue for a first anniversary dinner for two? And all those who have stayed at Oasis - tell us what you think ...

Hi Emma, I have stayed at the Oasis, and frequently propped the bar up over many years, approx. 12 years in fact. Kostas, Nikos, Father and their families are very friendly people. The hotel is always immaculately clean, and the food is good. The extras can be a little pricey I understand, such as fridge, (if not self catering) and aircon. Though never found need for aircon myself. The bar prices are at the higher end for the village. Saying that though, Kostas and his team always try to ensure that you have a good time during your stay. Some people may find them a tad pushy, but that is just them being over friendly. The cynics say that their friendliness is always with one eye on your pocket, but I have found that I am treated the same no matter how much I spend. They are in the business to make money though. Many people choose to stay only there, meeting up with friends who arrange to holiday at same time of year. Many of my friends back here in the UK I have met at the Oasis and I always look forward to seeing who will be out there the same time as me.

Hi Emma & welcome to the forum, there is no better setting for your romantic dinner than the outside terrace at "Kind Hearted Place", it is on the beach and you can watch the sunset as you enjoy your meal, i can't recommend enough their special roast lamb with potatoes, you have to order it the day before because they start it cooking early in the day, they will also let you book the table of your choice so that you can pick your prime spot. The nearest golf course is a far trot from Roda & you will need to hire a car to get there - maybe not worth the bother for one game ? I'm sure you will both have a great time, any questions, just ask away. pete.

Rena responded to my email and has provided me with some excursions that she does and the prices and they are very reasonable. Much cheaper than the reps I bet. !! And I emailed the car hire place Steve recommended and they too have responded quickly. If anyone wants to me to copy and paste the prices of the excursions and details of them from the email I received just let me know. Em x

You have been recommended the same place known by two different names. A sign perhaps?

Hi Emma, I looked up the prices of the golf , for the time you are here ,sorry, I don,t play myself , but last year my son in law decided that the cost of a hire car, a round of golf, in this intence heat in August , did,nt warrent the expence ... they went on the east coast cruise instead, swam most of the day, and a lunch of king prawns topped the lot
Have a great time, may meet you at the wednesday site get together in Roda
