... I never saw so many people in Roda. It may have been organised at the last minute, but just about everyone in Roda and the surrounding villages poured into town last night to enjoy the festival organised by the new committee. These are hastily taken photographs with no preparation, so forgive the quality - but I'm sure you will get the idea. It is such a shame that the first rain for many days started at about 9:30 and caused many to leave. It was short-lived and and ignored by some, including the band, who carried on regardless. There were a few forum members there and I hope they can tell give us their thoughts when they return to the UK. Here's to the next one ...

Contrast these scenes from last night with the pi-dropping silence the day before, when me and Panagioti's van were the only ones in the village.

... and there's more! In the best of traditions there is some dispute about the date ;D but, the next festival starts at 'roughly' 6:00 pm next Sunday, which I reckon is May 1st! Similar arrangement - food, drinks, candy floss and, this time, a disco on the beach with no other than 'Floyd Jackson' DJ extraordinaire! ..and this is where Floyd will be DJ-ing from :

Enjoyed the panygiri very much! such a shame the rain came...far too early for those who enjoyed the party very much, and there were a lot!!! Compliments for those who organised this event!! Will post some pictures (and video) when I get home.

The next festival on Sunday will now start - allegedly - at 12:00 noon. I think we have finally got the day right and the poster at the crossroads which said 29th has been changed? Don't forget - Floyd 'The Ladies' Choice' Jackson, pushes the boat out at noon - on the beach opposite Afrodite. There is some talk that this could be a regular monthly event.
