There is nothing definite yet, but Rena was seen in the village this week and the news on the grapvine is that she will be working this year. It will not be from the old premises, so we will all have to wait & see what happens. I am not sure if her website is operational, so any firm enquiries, please tell me and will pass them on when I can.

The grapevine works - and I have just seen Rena's husband Vikis clearing out the old shop. As we were told, Rena will be in the village this year and I will give you more details nearer the time. They are in the process of getting a new email address, so any queries, send them to me and then sit back & wait! Steve

This is really good news for Nick and I as we were hoping to use Nostos for our first time this year!

This may be the last time I post under this heading, and for good reason.
I have talked to Rena today and I can confirm what is now happening - at least, everything but the name. The old Nostos office has now been emptied and a new travel shop venture is well under way. Rena will be joining forces with Panayiota from the NSK agency in the Pangalos building opposite Pirates' Bar, to form an entirely new joint venture offering many of the old popular trips & excursions together with several new & exciting options. The office has been completely redecorated and the furniture is in. They will be open for Easter and by next week I should be able to give you more details.
I haven't been asked, but the name is still to be chosen - any ideas?

That is brilliant - Steve you do keep us dangling though - "several new and exciting options" - what are these? I cannot wait for July!
regards, Kath.

I really have no idea Kath, good prices, something old, something new and a different car-hire deal. I should have a better idea before Easter.

Hi Steve, Name for the new venture ? How about Pheonix Travel As the phoenix symbolizes rebirth maybe this would be appropriate for a new joint business venture. Hope they are a great success anyway.

'Phoenix' - risen from the ashes ... not a bad idea holidayman. I asked Rena again today, but it may be a little while before a name is chosen. Keep the suggestions coming and I'll pass them on. I didn't realise that most trips do not start until around May15th, but the new office will be open soon for car rental and money exchange. Rena claims that in 2011, she will have the very best deal in the village when it comes to exchange rates. This is the new office today, with still a lot more to do before the opening.

I will be in Roda 2nd - 16th May so if Rena choses the name Pheonix Travel i am quite prepared to cut the ribbon on the door for the opening ceremony. My fee ? - A cold Mythos would do fine!

We could all go on a "Roda Jollyboy's outing" Jackie - as long as it's not a too early start time , with Pete & Yvonne & maybe Nikki's gang we will fill almost half a coach ourselves. ;D pete.
