That's about what I'd expect, kaz, €1.081 in the UK - €1.13 in Nostos/NSK today.

Steve that rate at Nostos/NSK is very good. Let us know when you get the charges breakdown for your 300euro withdrawal.
regards, Kath.

By todays 'Bank rate' at 2200 ( UK time ) you should have got €1042 for £912 ...... yes I know the Bank rate and Tourist rates are different but a profit of €42 on this transaction seems a bit OTT to me. At one stage today it was €1.15 to the £ so the fluctuation in the rate of exchange still cannot explain to excess profit made by the Post Office, which is, in reality, a Bank.

This was a few days ago Johno, the rate qouted on P.O. website was 1.095 euro to the pound, commission free - the rate at Co-op travel the same day was 1.08, the rate in Roda was 1.11 before commission i think.. Probably just another case of rip off Britain. pete.

Hi Steve do you know what Nostos/NSK charge for exchanging money. I used to get Nostos to organise a taxi to pick our party up at the airport, do you know if they will still do that, if they do how do I get in touch with them. Sorry for all the questions. Susan. x

Hi Susan - I'm not sure who Rena uses for taxis, but I will ask her later. At the moment, she does not have an email address and she asked me to set one up for her. Later, she said she would do it ... I will ask again. Her telephone number has remained the same. Her rate yesterday was advertised at €1.13 per GB Pound.

Steve, could you find out how much she charges for exchange? Again, where she's situated is handier for us. And could you find out if she would exchange Scottish banknotes or if I'd have to get them changed over to English? Another thing that annoys me. Susan, why not book a taxi direct, via this site? Would that not work out cheaper? How many of you are going?

I've been again to see Rena and she still does not have an email address. She is waiting for a new computer and all will be sorted soon.
As far as taxis go, she does book through Roda Taxis, so feel free to use either route.
The €1.13 to 1 GBP rate advertised today, works out at €1.11 ish, after commission - about 1.8%.
Jacks, Rena will exchange Scottish banknotes at the same rate as English.
Hope this helps,
Steve
