... for a few changes and make sure you check the small print before you travel.
A few days ago, some Roda regulars arrived on a 'plane that carried less than 60 passengers. It was a Spanish charter company called Mint Airways, acting for Monarch. Today, I have had two reports of return flights being brought forward and people claiming that they are losing a day of their holidays. One lady who left from Birmingham is being returned to Manchester and she is not pleased. No mention has even been made to her of shuttling her back to where she departed. I have someone else checking tomorrow on their flights for Friday/Saturday, and I will let you know.
My guess is that journeys are being consolidated to save money as people like Thomas Cook report a poor trading year to their shareholders. Anything and everything is being done to slash end-of-season costs and customers have to abide by decisions which are probably well covered under 'operational issues' in the small print.
It would be no surprise to see reps sent home soon and coach drivers being forced to handle transfers unassisted - the coaches themselves being obliged to cover more destinations and make transfer times even longer. If you were ever tempted to use Roda Taxis, now might be a good time.
If you are still to travel to Roda in October, then a few minutes reading your contract might be time well spent. I hope I am wrong about what is happening, but a bit of preparation might be useful if you are to get a fair deal from your tour operator.
