was out there with the two lovely girls. We mostly had a very good time, and I was very pleased to meet them as I had heard a lot about them. All good. Apart from a couple of times I want to completely forget and a bad case of gut problems which caused me to miss the first greek night in ten or more years, I had a good time. Plenty of sunshine and only one day of torrential rain, (but at least we saw the streakers) Completely different from usual in that we stayed at the Panorama. I was lucky and had a good room, small but clean. Roll on next year.

Nobody has mentioned the streakers yet, Janiemou - do you want to tell everyone what you saw? I have challenged a few people around the village to see if they were involved - nothing but denials so far. Steve

Hi Y'all, just got online after 37 hours shift on Tugs. Back on again in 10 hours as there's a major Naval Exercise on at the mo. Hopefully I'll have more time off tomorrow to give you all a full run-down on Hols. Had a great time, first week with Janiemou, Shirl, and newbie Doreen ; second week Doreen had to go home ( under protest !! ) and the Terrible Trio was joined by Gailee and Shezza. A few minor down spots but I think that overall everyone had a good time. We flew out from Newcastle which for me was a 1st. Love that Airport !! The ''Trio'' had checked-in On-line and our cases disappeared with alacrity !! Doreen had to check-in at the Airport, but with 5 desks open for Jet 2, no queue, no waiting !! With lots of time to kill we started off with an in-depth tour of .... The Bar !!! I found that not only were the staff at the Airport polite and friendly ( especially the Bar ) but they actually seemed to be enjoying their work !! A really pleasant change from many Airports I have flown from where the veneer of politeness is very thin !! On to the flight .... Jet 2 is definitely a no-frills Airline but, many other carriers should have a close look at their Service. The extra leg-room (standard seats) is a real boon for those of us on the tallish 'chunky' side. Flight Crew info was precise and informative and I didn't yawn once ! Cabin Crew immaculately turned out, polite without being 'gushing' , fast, efficient and friendly. The flight was on time, and even through a slight alcohol-induced haze, enjoyable. Corfu Airport ... if you don't get stressed, it's fun !!! A 2 B transfers ... not too easy to suss-out that they work under Lord Travel but once found ... no probs. Standard transfer time to Roda by coach ( 1 1/2 - 2 hours ) and dropped where we wanted in Roda. Super stuff for £9.80 single. Panorama difficult to find if you don't know Roda very well with only a sign up on window with names and Room numbers displayed ( almost impossible to see in dark ). Fortunately Thalasea Taverna was open so we had no problems. I'll have to continue tomorrow as I'm cutting into my beauty sleep ( even though I don't need that much !!! ) 'Night All.... Johno

As if to reinforce Johno's praise for Jet2.com - they have just won two business awards:
"Jet2.com, the budget airline based at Leeds-Bradford International Airport, has scooped two travel awards at the Holiday Extras Customers’ Awards 2010.
It won the silver award in the Best Airline for Value for Money category and bronze for Best Airline Cabin Crew category."
They have also announced that Glasgow will be a new operating base with nine new routes - unfortunately, Corfu is not one of them.

Best Airline Cabin Crew
1. Virgin Atlantic 2. easyJet 3. Jet2.com 4. bmi 5. Aer Lingus

Ok 25th September, very very very wet night. We went to Roda Park for meal, very good despite water penetration of the restaurant. Dry spell so went to Crusoes and indulged in alcohoic beveredge as one must. One thirtyish another dry spll so headed back up past Maggies. Just commenting on how dead village was when ' LOOK OUT' was yelled behind us. Barely had time to move when a naked young man ran past us closely followed by a naked young woman, barely covered front with hand towel and three more naked young men. They dissappeared round Nikos's supermarket Apparently there was a 6th., but he went up back way. Mystery as to where their clothes were etc, but it did brighten a soggy night up !!!!! My theory they went skinny dipping and a 'friend' pinched their clothes.
