Hi All,
I have to say had a great holiday in Roda, will be back in Sep. 2011.
First of all me and BecksyJ decided to take the Taxi from the airport to Roda. Didn't fancy the idea of the long coach journey so we used Roda Taxi's very efficient and friendly the taxi driver was talking about different parts of the island as we were heading to our destination.
We spent the week at the Pegasus. I have to say my experience of hotels in other parts of Greece have sometimes not reached my expectations(just don't go there). However Pegasus for a 3 star was quite impressive from the outside when we turned up because of the tinted windows we began to wonder if the place was actually open.
Once in after I tried the door lol. The reception was spotless, Bar to the right(win), big projector screen to the left(another win) and a friendly welcome from the staff member behind the reception(third win)
After getting our keys we headed up to our room.
Several things about the room, the bed was a massive king size decent bed sheets/covers not the usual sheets and woolly cover I have had experienced before. Plenty of storage for clothes.
The bathroom was a decent size and also there was a shower holder lol. Trust me that stops me from soaking the whole bathroom.
Hotel breakfast - Now to be honest if you're after a slap up full English this isn't the place for it. (We went to Maggie's & Smiley's for this, both hangover cures). Here's the choice, Madeira cake, white or brown bread(can be toasted) several jams, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, juices, tea & coffee all still nice. I have to say this was probably my saving grace because having a slap up brekky everyday would have probably put another stone onto me.
Moving outside - The pool was lovely and big, only went in it once was blinking freezing, however I wouldn't let that put anybody off we were early season. We did use the poolside snack bar and they seemed to have a decent spread of choice on there menu not extortionate either. Ooh by the way the ice cream was nice there. Also to the front of the hotel they have a nice seating area with a pool table (thrashed becksyj in a game of course).
There is another thing I would like to add the staff are so friendly, it seems that nothing was ever a burden no matter what time of the day or who was on shift.
To summarise this hotel is quality I would recommend it to anyone. Don't let the distance affect you either it's not as far as people think also its an ideal to burn of that cake or sometimes sober up lol.
Laters,
Nick
