Welcome to the forum Ann, you have tapped into a rich vein of enthusiasm that we hope will infect you as it has us. Please tell us how and why you chose Roda as a holiday destination and how we can improve rodaonline by providing additional information.
Roda is a compact village with something for everyone but, above all, it is the friendliness of the people that brings most of us back. It is a giant family of friends that meet for two weeks every year and makes you most welcome. Make the effort to cultivate a relationship with the owners of your favourite bars, restaurants and tavernas, and you will be back aagain. They will make it very easy for you.
Fingers crossed on the ash cloud,
Steve

Welcome Ann - as you already know, this site is a useful source of information - if there is anything you need to know there will be someone along soon with the answer. If you are able, you should pop to one of the FGTs when you are in Roda - they are good fun and you will be able to put faces to some of the names of the members of the site.
I'm certain that this will be the first of many visits - once you are hooked there is nothing you can do!
kind regards, Kath.

Hi Ann and welcome to the forum. As everyone has already said, please ask if there's anything you'd like to know about Roda. There are plenty of us who can help with any questions you may have.
Whereabouts are you staying in Roda? I'm arriving on 19th June so hopefully see you at the FGT. Nikki

Thank you for the lovely warm welcome In answer to some of your questions: I and my family are staying at the Pegasus hotel which I know is on the main road but seemed to have mainly good reviews. We have been to Corfu before though it was 6 years ago and we stayed at the Nafsika hotel in San Stefanos which we all loved! My elder daughter has been living and working in Corfu (Gouvia) for the last 2 years and this is the first time we have been able to visit. My daughter recommended Roda, as she said it was a lovely village with friendly locals and something for everyone! I don't know if I could recommend anything to improve Roda online, as all the bases seem to be covered and everything is quick and easy to find - so keep up the good work! Please let me know if there is a forum get-together whilst I am there and I will see if we can make it although as a newbie I don't want to appear too pushy!! Many thanks Ann

Thanks Lynda, I can't wait to go - only 32 days now!! Can you tell me how far the Pegasus is to the beach and the main bit where all the restaurants and bars are and are there any bars right near the pegasus - for a nightcap maybe?
It is so good to be able to ask questions and know the answers you get back are from people who know the area.
Many thanks
Ann x

Hi Ann - check out the map on Roda Essentials to see where most things are. The nearest bar to Pegasus, is 'island Tropicana', just 2/3 minutes away on the crossroads. Turn left there, and it's another 2/3 minutes to the village proper.

Thanks Sue and Lynda and everybody else who has said hello. I hope things pick up for you and you are able to get to Roda soon! My partner was on a 3 day week all last year and it was a nightmare, but compared to people being made redundant we were lucky! Anyway I will certainly have a few drinks for you, so yammas and thanks once again for all the info!!
