It now seems that most if not all online flight bookings require you to enter the passport details for every member of your party, make sure you check if this applies to you even if you booked some time ago before this requirement, the last thing you want is to be turned away at the check-in desk. pete.

They never asked for ours, when we booked.
Surely if they now need it, they'd contacs us about it?

This has been a requirement of Easyjet for a few years now - dont know about the others! But with EJ if you dont provide the information you dont fly!
regards, Kath.

Jackie, i booked our June flights last year and it did not ask for the info, when i booked our September flights it did, i went back into the June booking and there was a box there warning me that i hadn't provided the info - as Cuthbert says it's better to check than to be turned away. pete.

I didn't book direct with TC, though. I booked through a booking agent.
How are you supposed to know that they require the info, if they don't ask for it, in the first place?

Hi Jackie, it's frustrating isn't it ? Have you got a booking reference number that you can enter on T.C's site ? If not it's got to be worth a phone call to them. pete.

I've contacted the company I booked through - I don't have any references or anything with TC, it's all through Alpha Rooms.
Are travel agents making you provide this info too, if you book through them? It's not like you carry your passport around with you, when you're going into a travel agent to book your holiday.
Sure it's not just airlines that are issuing e-tickets, that require this info?

having just been on the thomson website can advise you need to do this with them too now! It can be done from 24 hours - 6 months before fly, if you fly in under 24 hours then thomson will pass the information on on your behalf (i am guessing thats what they will be doing with anyone who booked before the new legislation was brought in and hasn't been online to do it before they get to the airport). we have done ours to be on the safe side!

Just got tickets (Yeeee-Ha) with Thomas Cook and no mention of Advanced Passenger Information (API) anywhere on tickets. 'Phoned their customer line and was informed (by auto message) where to log in. Process dead easy (even for numpty like me!), but I am a bit P'd off that there was no info passed out by TC.

Jacks it is best to check, "surely they will contact you" has long gone out of the window with some companies. They seem to think you should know or read their web site or is buried in the small print, have a crystal ball, Cuthbert

I have just been on thomas cook website and this is the info below for Greece New and existing bookings can enter API from: 20th January 2010. All customers departing from: 1st April 2010
Customers can enter API no earlier than 28 days before they are due to depart.
I booked my flights on line in January and as yet I have not heard anything from TC so I'm pleased this has been brought to our attention.
OML ----- the thought of getting turned away at the checkout desk

Just waiting to hear back from them. Till then, I can do nothing.
