well my intention to return to roda this sep have been put on hold by work :-( i got refused one day (the day i would be flying out!!!!)
anyway i have secured a weeks leave last week in may, so thought i may venture across then.
i have been looking at the weather and notice the average is lower than the other greek isles by upto 2 degrees, so wondered if i could get some "real" reports on what the weather is like last week may?
we have just returned from the redsea, which was pleasant in the morning but the afternoons went rather cool, and by ecvening you needed wooly jumper the lot, so are hoping to get something abit more "summery" in may.
we are debating between booking independantlya nd staying at the pegasus, or going with thomas cook to the aphrodite.

Hi Becky, we always used to go at the end of May when our daughter was young, 99% of the time the weather was beautiful - just the odd shower and it was cooler at night than in the later months - an added bonus that we miss nowadays is the sight of the fireflies in the fields in the evenings. If you look at some of the photos that Steve has posted recently you can see that it is still sunny outside the main summer months, i'm sure others will confirm what i say. Have a great time. pete.

If my aging memory serves me right Becky, because it isn't too hot i tended to stay in the sun for longer than i do now and probally had a better tan in those days. pete.

Hi Becky.
Take a look at the highlighted link below which will give the weather forecast for the last week of May this year. One can go back further if you wish. Hope this is helpful.
Incidentally, we have before, arrived in Corfu early morning, and have been given keys to our room on arrival on two occasions. Both accommodations, one independent and the other a package hotel were run 24/7, so someone is available.

Hi Becky - don't forget that Corfu Forecasts are for the whole of the island. As we get north westerly winds in Roda, the weather here is often different, and can be better, than much of the island. In the winter, we do get perhaps more rain from the southerlies.

We have been the last 2 years in May and you do get a bit of rain but it disappears as fast as it comes. But whatever the weather you will enjoy Roda. Heres a couple of pics from this year and last year.

It's still only April, but we saw our first fireflies a week or so ago - forgot to mention it before!

If I remember, it was Saturday, just gone (10th) and just after dark, whatever time that was. According to a note I made a couple of years ago, that is 2 days early than when I noted them that year Julie

lol, i woke up this morningand heared about the ash cloud and all i could do was be releived that there is still six weeks to go until we fly...most mornings i wake up and wish that it was less, but i don't want to risk any excuses for not making this mays trip so today six weeks will do me nicely :-)
