Hi, we were in Roda Park when the storm happened - it was something else ! Albert ran out into the street to pick up the hailstones (he'd never seen anything like it) I must confess that although we get some bad weather up here in the North East I'd never seen hailstones the size of these - the thunder and lightening that followed were frightening and exhilerating in equal measure. We were stuck there for quite a while so it would have been impolite not to partake of a drink or three!
It was lovely to meet Dave and Linda at the FGT in Crusoes - I look forward to hearing the next instalment re your house.
kind regards, Kath.

Dave back,Sorry about that break had to go to see daughter Jackie& grandchildren as they wanted to make sure we were o.k.Anyway there were broken tiles all over the garden, the gable end of the house was broken off at the eaves, the guttering was knocked off & so on.I went sraight to the insurance company beside the vets, told Paul what had happened he jumped straight in his car with me we went back to the house & by the time we got there Vasilli our neighbour(site manager whose wife rita runs Estrella's)had turned up with Deano & his workmate to examine the damage.Paul was up the ladder with his camera straight up on the roof taking photo's .the builder deano was by now making temporary repairs to make it watertight, throwing down burnt bits of roof timbers where it had caught fire, luckily the rain had prevented a much larger amount of damage.Deano & Paul were re-assurring us saying that we were very lucky to still be here which had already crossed my mind. The repairs were done to make it watertight with Deano saying he would be back first thing Monday morning to start work on the repairs.Quiet weekend (thank God) Deano turned up Monday bright & early saying that his wife had been saying prayers for us all weekend. On closer examination the chimney had to come down & more timbers had to be removed because of fire damage,it took 4 days to complete the work & now other than a coat of paint you would not guess what had happened, during this time we had several visitors(sightseers) to view what had happened.During our stay we met Kath&Rob again,Elaine&Kenny(scots)& Kath&John fellow geordies Also the terrible twosome who put this forum together. We then had glorious weather for the rest of the holiday (obviously the lightening has had a slight effect on my memory). Will we return again next October?Does anyone want to buy a house, don't be daft of course we will return .By the way the hailstones were the week after that was something else!
