I am now going with Alan in the car from Corfu to London. We have decided to keep a detailed note of the road journey. Once we reach London and get back in the swing, I will post the results. Alan all excited as he loves the drive - me would rather fly, still being the chief map reader, note taker, etc. etc. I am sure the time will fly or alternatively one of us will end up by the road somewhere in Europe !! thumbing a lift

Thanks Anita - that will be great information for other drivers. We look forward to reading it - our route through Africa is not really applicable ;D
When do you go?

We leave Corfu on 31st October 07:00 Minoan to Venice, we drive straight through to Der Fraustein guest house & restaurant and the next morning drive to Dunkerque for Norfolkline ferry on 2nd Nov to Dover. We use Norfolkline as they are generally the cheapest and more accommodating as if you miss your designated time slot they automatically place you on the next boat, if this missed you get a free change. Once in London we start the withdrawal symptoms

We prefer Ancona route much better than all the tunnels to Venice // and a shorter crossing
