Back last night from a fortnight at the Aphrodite with our son & his fiancee and our daughter and her partner. Had a terrific time, again. On arrival we and our son were allocated the two sea front rooms just above the entrance. I was a bit worried about noise but had no problems at all. The room was lovely, marble topped dressing and bedside tables with matching verandah table. Loads of storage with a huge wardrobe & plenty of drawers. Good sized bathroom with full bath and shower. Once we had worked out that the worst time to take a bath/shower was around 5 to 6pm as hot water sometimes ran out we were fine as water heated again by 6.30pm. The hotel was kept spotlessly clean and the staff were helpful and cheerful (most of the time). I asked for extra pillows and extra blankets for my son after checking out our rooms and they were there before we went to bed that night (excellent service).
Breakfast can get a bit boring but they do supply additional food i.e. full english, scrambled egg on toast etc. at an extra cost if you want it and there are lots of places around if you feel like a change of venue for breakfast.
Didn't use the pool as the beach is so close (just over the road) but our daughter did and said it was fine.
For the first time in Corfu (been many times) the weather let us down a bit as we were only able to use the beach about 4 or 5 times during our fortnight. Did'nt spoil the holiday though as we hired a car, then a scooter for the last 3 days and used these to get around and sightsee.
Again we had a smashing holiday, renewed our aquaintance with Julie & Steve along with our other many friends in Roda (Alex & Sarah (& new baby Spiros who is gorgeous) , Lynne & Andrew & Marta at Crusoes & of course "George" to name but a few. Now looking forward to next year which will be booked as soon as we confirm our holiday dates at work. This holiday is highly recommended so if you are thinking of booking the Aphrodite, or anywhere in Roda, my advice is "go for it" you'll have the time of your life.
