Anyone interested in just a cold beer and relax with a cracking view, try the Brandy Shop next to Sams boats. This is a lovely little bar that we discovered this year, never been in before but tried it this time and ended up spending most of my time just chillin and watching the tide. They also do hand cut home made chip buttie's mmmmm.

That's the one, Pete, family business originally known as the Brandy Shop, then Niko's, and now back to the Brandy Shop. It really has been popular this year and is one of the best locations, as Tony says, for chilling out and watching the world go by. Many people who never go any further than the harbour have never found this busy little corner of Roda.

Drat - the cat's out of the bag!! We've been using Niko's for years and it's been a well kept secret. Will have to cart my own chair round from the apartment now!

I remember on our first visit to Roda we called in on the way back from a walk to Acharavi and ordered a chip buttee, Nikos jumped on to his moped and returned within 5mins laden down with teacakes, while I presume it was his wife, could be seen peeling the taties, fresh food greek style, you can't beat it! We will be in Roda on the 15th and will certainly be calling in for a beer and buttee.

The thing that always strikes me when I walk into the Harbour bar, John, is the collection of people silhouettes against a backdrop of golden sand, azure seas, cornflower skies and violet mountains - I don't know anywhere else with that view.

Where are you, we've been coming to Roda for a few years now, and we have never visited the Lazy Bar.

Where are you, we've been coming to Roda for a few years now, and we have never visited the Lazy Bar. Susie The bar is actually the Brandy Shop - it is not called the Lazy Bar. It really is a lovely setting for a bar and the little decking area across the road is directly above the beach so you are looking straight in to the sea while sipping your cool drink. Definitely worth your while in finding it! Julie
