Myron's Scooter Hire has relocated to the shop between Spiros Banos Supermarket and Travel Spot, next to Sam's Boats. When we get more details, we'll make another announcement.

DOH! thatll please my rents and probs many others that stay at the aprtments. Nice sounds of buzzing hair dryer scooters. i assume they would only be open during day hours? Im sure many would become anoyed of the sounds and the kids burning past dangerously. I understand that its most probs a business and financial move. But many enjoy the peace of the area the aprtments are in. but if they open reasonable hour like 8ish then all should be fine.

I agree with lukert09 (except for 8ish being considered as reasonable), an increase in noise, an increase in traffic on an otherwise largely unused 'road' in an area that is noted for its tranquility by the people that stay there cannot be a good thing for the future prosperity of that part of the village.

Unfortunately it does nothing to add to the view from that corner only the noise levels I suspect.

Apologies for expressing an opinion that falls outside the party line (although I was under the impression that this was a forum) Perhaps as others have suggested recently its not worth posting unless the rose tinted glasses are firmly in place. Perhaps best not to bother at all.

agree wiv SMG people like us pay good £ to have the fairly quiet and nice views adding scooters and the sounds of hair dryers on wheels isnt good especially as they are open until 9pm. Im only 24 so shouldnt really care about that sort noise BUT I DO . hopefully its not to bad BUT it will no doubt make it a bit more dangerous for all. if they offer us discount for staying next door then i might be a lil bit happier

SMG You are only saying what i think and possibly many others-as one who lived on Corfu for nearly 20 years i am dismayed by the decline in standards.I first came to Corfu in 1978 and times to change, but not just Roda but the whole island is in decline sadly. As for comments on this forum,if they are at all derogatory they get swept under the carpet. It seems one can only post glowing reports----sorry!!!

I hope roda doesnt go the same way as sidari and chavos , peeps say it wil not but when i went to kavos the locals said it wasnt always like thaT? also the bar/hotel owner said back in 05 that sidari was becoming more kavos like aparantly it was only basic livelyness .who knows waht the future has in store hopefully the laid back family friendly type and if u want the livelyness as such u have drunken sailor etc if roda stays like know she will be great.

I really don't think the noise of mopeds in Roda is really bad. I used to stay in the Grigoris, straight across the road from the Silver Beach & there was a wee bit of noise, but nothing major. But I think in the years since I started going, there seems to be less people using mopeds than back then.
We'll see, this year though, what the noise is like with Myron having moved. They have always been there, so I don't think there's gonna be any more noise than there was previously, is there? I hope not, anyway.

Got to admit the noise doesn't bother me, but everyone entitled to their opinion, only thing that ever used to wake me up was the cockerel at the back of the splendor appts!!

Have to agree with you Jools. Those Roda cockerels don't seem to care what time of day it is

Thanks Nikki - you've just reminded me of some important news. For all you cockerel haters, OPA taverna is providing you this year with a way of getting your own back! 'Cockerel Pastitsada' - a traditional Corfiot dish for four people and the best way to deal with old roosters. You won't get that in Kavos! ;D
