As I write this, Spiros from the Harbour Bar, is fishing way out at sea. He has just caught a 'synagrida' weighing 4kg which is a top quality fish worth a euro or two in a local restaurant. Looking on the internet, there seems to be no common name in English, but for those who want to look it up, the latin name is 'dentex dentex'. It is an active and solitary deep-water predator found in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. It could be on the menu somewhere soon - I wonder if OPA will buy it?

Synagrida, (Dentex Dentex), or its common name the Sea Wolf, can be found at this link: SEA WOLF - SYNAGRIDA (Copyright name prevents me showing the picture).
Fiesty fish by the look of things.

For those who want a bit of fishing when they are in Roda, don't forget we have a tackle shop just over the crossroads opposite Island Tropicana.

Never saw so much as a fin, John - I guess that the fish has a market price, I'll ask Spiros when I see him.
