Having set the standard for breakfasts over the last 20-plus years, and been enthusiastically copied by one and all at every price level, in 2009, ‘Maggies’ is leaving her visitors’ breakfast needs to her disciples in order to concentrate all her energies (such as they are at 63 years of age) toward a comprehensive afternoon and evening brasserie-style service incorporating snacks, light meals, homemade cakes & desserts and a take-away service as well as full-on dining and special celebrations.
Maggie and her staff have decided to give visitors a service offering even more’ value for money’ than before with an abbreviated menu, but also a daily ‘specials’ board offering satisfying one-plate bistro dishes of international flavour at budget prices. Old ‘showstoppers’ like 20oz ‘T’-bones, mega-large fish & chips and homemade pies etc., will still be available and the additional bistro specials will offer a consistent variety of the best available produce cooked to order. Special needs will be looked after given a little advance notice.
From May1st, 'Maggies' will open from 1:30 pm until late. Further information will be added to her website in due course.

Once again Maggies did not disappoint, the new menu is great & all the old favourites are still there - only managed the trifle 3 or was it 4 times - will have to have another go in september. We also had the sunday roast the night before we came home - excellent ! pete.

We have neve had a bad meal in Roda and cant wait to sample Maggies new menu!Although we try to always eat greek sometimes you really fancy a pudding ans this is where Maggie triumphs. There as so many good places to eat but I think we all go back to our favourites, for us Opa, Dolphin, Nikos and we love the chargrilled food at the Drosia. I havent seen the Drosia mentioned on the forum (or have I missed it) but the food is excellent but with large portions, we have to ask for half portions or we cant make it back to the apartment!! We use to always eat at the Kind Hearted Place their Squid was really good but it is not the same without Niko or Mary who always used to sit in the corner of the taverna in the mornings peeling onions, time marches on but we do miss them and I dont think the food is as good as it was.

Our personal choice for squid is OPA, Julie thinks it is the best she has ever tasted. It's strange how experiences differ - we went to Pangalos eight years ago and didn't enjoy the food. We went back for the first time recently and had a fantastic pastitsio. Spyridoula's policy is to offer in the restaurant (Kind Hearted Place) the food that she that cooks for the family. Maggie's new menu has reverted more to what was available originally, due to customer demand. The customer is always right!

We too loved Maggies when we last visited Roda. In fact we loved it so much that when we went to another part of Corfu (Kalami) a few weeks later, we got into a taxi so that our son-in-law could take the Big Fish & Chip challenge (he won lol)
I am a big pudding fan (big being the operative word, I'm afraid!) and found that the only way I could manage one in Maggies was to order a salad first!

Neither do we, davvo, but Maggie's is better than most - anywhere! If Lynda's son managed the big one - we'll ask the mayor to commission a statue for next year! For a slight twist on Fish & Chips, try her other popular meal - fillet of sole with saute potatoes, it is really delicious. Steve

If Lynda's son managed the big one - we'll ask the mayor to commission a statue for next year! Steve He certainly did manage it, and he has the T shirt to prove it! It was brought from out the back with great ceremony, and he had to put it on there and then! It says something like "I had a big one at Maggies" and he has often said that he would like to revisit (maybe this time trying the monster steak or something). He is a big lad, with a heart to match and we are all agreed that my daughter made one of her better decisions when she married him. However, I'd rather keep him for a week than a fortnight, he never stops eating!
