If anyone is flying with Thomsomfly or Thomsons, a return coach transfer from the airport to the resort is £16.
I appreciate that taxi's are more convenient and quicker, but a saving of nearly 80 Euros can't be ignored in these difficult times, and more money to spend in our favourite place!

We accept the saving, John, it is not inconsiderable. The advantage of a taxi transfer, of course, is extra time in Roda. For most, it means an additional four hours minimum and, depending on the time of arrival, a coach transfer can leave holidaymakers with the difficult decision of whether to get some sleep or not. Getting to bed two hours later can lose the whole of the first morning.
As with most things, it's up to each party to 'cut their cloth accordingly' - and don't forget the 'donkey' transfer scheme! - low cost, but you lose four days in Roda! ;D

Hi Bev, if you are planning on using the village taxi firms, why not book it now to ensure that you get one before they are all booked up, they are cheaper than the corfu town taxis and you will not pay anything untill the day you use it. here are the links to both firms. pete. rodaonline.org/rodataxi.htmlrodaonline.org/alfataxi.html

Ta Pete, we have the numbers for the village taxis. I gather then they get very busy. I consider it a little money for a lot more pleasure. Bev.

Hi again Bev, if you look at "who's booked for 2009" there are already 5 parties arriving on the same day as yourselves & these are only the ones who use the forum, it looks like a popular date. pete.

does anyone have any reports on the airport shuttles? My daughter visits us for a week while we are staying in Roda and the taxis are too expensive for her traveling on her own. On previous years she has asked at the airport if she can pay for a ride on one of the tourists buses going to Roda but that is not possible because of the insurance, so they say!!! SO has anyone used a shuttle service or do you know anyone who has. Thanks Marg

Every time we visit Roda we hire a car and use this as our transfer to airport on the last day.
This year for the first time we had a hire car waiting for us at airport, we stopped at the shops on route, had a gyros... and got to Roda already in holiday mode. NSK from Roda organised it and we had the hire car for 3 days for the price of the taxi... if you're happy to drive, what a saving!
