Just back again from a wonderful 4 week stay at Pipitsa's. These apartments are fantastic and Pipitsa will make sure you have everything you need even down to washing machine, microwave, electric steamer, sandwich toaster, electric food chopper, coffee percolater and anything else anyone might need for a self catering holiday. She will always go out of her way to try and provide items for your needs. She makes you more than welcome and has become a dear friend to us (she truly is a fantastic lady). If you want a luxury apartment in Roda then give Pipitsa's a try, I'm sure you wouldn't want to go anywhere else after being here. Air conditioning/heating included in the price is a boon for the peak season or the cooler days.

What more can be said about this wonderful women except to pay her the ultimate compliment by returning again and again. Flo and I will be back staying with Pipitsa in October and hopefully by then our flights will be out for next July/August. Long may she be there to spoil us and all her other customers.

Our previous experience of Greek accommodation was one of poorly equipped and rather basic provision. However when we arrived at the sumptuously decorated self catering apartments we were very pleased with what we were provided with.
Each of our two apartments was cooled with air con and each room had a flat screen TV with large very comfortable double beds supplied making our afternoon siesta extremely enjoyable. Both kitchens had washing machines and cooking facilities to use, very handy when you just want an evening in. There was also sun-loungers provided and a lovely balcony area to sit and enjoy the sun. For the more technically minded free wi-fi and a laptop were also available to those staying at Aspioti - Pipitsa.
Lastly, there was the hospitality provided by Pipitsa herself, as she always made time for us. When going back to Roda this would be our first choice for accommodation. • Stayed June 2011

:-/I don't understand the attraction to Pipatsa's, the apartments seem so comfortable that I would never move out of the door except to get more wine/beer from the supermarket !! My apartment on holiday is a place to hang my clothes (usually on the floor !! ) sleep, shower and sh*t, possibly bed athhletics..... ( I should be so lucky ) but not a place that would look better than my home !!! I hope that Pipitsa will take no offence to this comment...... This is my personal opinion ...... Roda has become a "tourist village " BUT it still retains some of the old Greek values.

Taste is personal, but why these comments johnofish?
Have you ever been there/seen what it looks like/ met Pipitsa?? If you had , you would certainly love Pipitsa because of the wonderful person she is and and you would not dare to write bad things. If you don't like it, leave it !! Roda has a lot of different kind of apartments , so just choose another one. Pipitsa is full most of the time anyway.
Again, what you want in your holidays is personal...but reading your comment about beer /wine and reg. the time you wrote the message on this topic , I think I can imagine what you look for during your holiday... I spend my holidaymoney in another way.

Petra, I have met Pipitsa and viewed her well equipped and decorated appartments and I agree they offer something different but not necessarily better. As both you and Jonofish say its about taste and personal opinion. When I am in Roda in July and August I spend around 9 hours a day in my appartment (7 of those asleep) I do not need the gadgets and the extra comforts. Perhaps if I came in October my needs would be different. We all go to Roda to relax and have fun in whatever way we choose, why would you feel the need to 'imagine' what Jonofish looks for in his holiday let alone comment on it?

Petra, Johno didnt say anything against Pipitsa he simply said the apartments weren't for him and as you said, taste is personal - so surely he is entitled to his opinion even though it may differ from yours.
For the record, we have met Pipitsa on many occasions (I agree she is a truly lovely lady) and had the great pleasure of being shown her apartments. At the risk of putting my head above the parapet I find myself agreeing with Johno - my ideal holiday apartment would be somewhere between basic and the luxury on offer at Pipitsa's accommodation. Takes cover!
regards, Kath

Johno didn't say anything personal about Pipitsa in his message - unlike the attack on Johno by, you, Petra. What he enjoys doing on holiday OR at home is none of our business.
I don't feel the need for too many luxuxries on holiday. Like most people i'm never in the apartment long enough. Only in it to sleep or get ready for going out.
Everyone has there own thoughts & opinions. The world wouldn't be as wonderful a place if we all thought alike!

I must admit, Petra, I had to read Johno's post twice - but isn't he acknowledging the apartments' comfort and luxury, but merely saying that is not what he is looking for? I don't think there was anything sinister meant.

Just to put your mind at rest over the times I 'post' Petra, when I finish on the boat at around midnight I like to get home, have a small snack, then spent anhour or so on-line just to chill-out before I go to bed. As Shirley works night shift this doesn't disturb her and I'm nice and relaxed when I hit the sack . And yes, Petra, Pipitsa is a very lovely person, I had the pleasure of meeting her many years ago. What do I get up to on holiday ?? I enjoy myself .... Johno style !!

Hi folks,
following this funny discussion, I agree with Johno, that basic equipment is enough for one part of tourists . - o.k.. But let me throw a short view to the big picture: When I came to Roda first time in 1992 there was all basic - and this was all, the people wanted. We had three(!) discos (crowded every night), bars, restaurants - all full til late night. The sort of tourists coping with this style was plenty, and everything was fine. The following years this changed will all the cheap holiday places like Turkey, former Yugoslavia and Bulgaria for example. Since that Roda (and other Greek places) is struggeling and decreasing year by year not being able to compete with Bulgarian five-star hotels for some hundred euros per week incl. flight.. Most owners didn't invest over years to be attractive also for customers, who on one hand like to have some more luxury (for Greek circumstances) and on other hand are willing to spend more money in the village. Have a look to Acheravi, where following the all-inclusive-business many restaurants, bars and shop are or get bankrupt.
So let's welcome both: Those tourists looking for basics (they will find plenty) in and around Roda, and also gratulate and thank people like Pipitsa, who early saw the development and did prepare for the future. Roda itsself will never be a place of luxury, but with the chance to have appartments like Pipitsas, the village will be longer able to get tourists also from other classes.
Live and let live ;-))

Just returned again from another 2 weeks at Pipitsa's , as usual the apartments were spot on, the best beds in town, brilliant bathroom and the luxury of a washing machine which meant the only dirty clothes we had when we got home were the ones we travelled in. Unforunately we didn't see much of Pipitsa due to her having to stay in Corfu town because she is still fully booked, she went out of her way to find us a room to freshen up and change in due to us having a late flight with no charge, she even provided clean towels just for the one day. The fact that these apartments have been fully booked all season speaks for itself, perhaps the're not for everyone but personnaly i wouldn't stay anywhere else. pete.
