Welcome to the Forum of the new Roda website – a site totally owned and operated, without outside interference, by the people of the Village of Roda. This has been an unexpected, and initially unwelcome, step forced upon us by the unscrupulous machinations of an internet fraudster who has attempted to hold Roda to ransom by claiming ownership of the original site and demanding €24,000 to relinquish it.
Once again, the people of Roda, in adversity, have shown the fighting spirit that established the original site on the map and, having neutralised the threat to our livelihoods, they have sanctioned the new website.
The two people responsible for putting the whole thing together in a ridiculously short space of time, Julie & Steve, the previous administrators of the original website, deserve our admiration, sympathy & gratitude for working around the clock for the Village. It is now most important for substantial traffic to commence through the new website, as it is this that will re-establish our prominence on the internet and show those who sought to ‘fleece’ the Village that, ‘when the going gets tough – the tough get going’.
Well done Julie & Steve - & well done Roda.

Well said sir. I was not aware of the background that led to the establishment of this forum. However, it does not come as a surprise. What has come out of it is this new flourishing forum, established by Julie and Steve and many dedicated people of Roda.
As we use to say in the Navy, BRAVO ZULU, Well Done.

Well said Des and let's hope the internet fraudster gets his "just deserts" as they say "God pays back in mysterious ways"

All the best with it Julie and Steve
I'll keep a close eye on progress with it throughout a rainy Glasgow Winter as no doubt will plenty of regulars who are in "UK quarantine" and dreaming of getting back to Roda. What a challenging year it has been one way and another for everyone trying to make a living there.

Hi Julie and Steve, So sorry to hear about whats been going. I thought there was just a temp problem. Found my way here via another site. It's such a shame after all the hard work you had put into the other one. Thank you so much for carrying on with this new one. Lets hope it's as sucessful as the old one. Luv Jan X

Thanks Jan I'm afraid the problem is permanent, but we have got up a 'head of steam' now and we're pressing on with the new site. The biggest thing that we have lost is the Roda archive of postings, comments, photos and experiences. At the risk of repeating ourselves, it would be good for everyone to reflect on what was said before and re-post their comments for the benefit of new visitors. It's no problem for me because I'm always repeating myself! Steve

!!!How true!!! = we met Julie & Steve again during our wonderful family fortnight in Roda (came home yesterday). With support from all our fellow Rodaphiles we can make this site bigger and better than the original & show our thanks and support to Julie and Steve for keeping us informed, jealous (wish we were there all the time like they are), and looking forward to our next visit. The site makes winter pass quicker as we can visit Julie & Steve whenever we feel like it via this site. Thanks both of you for not just giving up and I'm sure I speak for all Rodaphiles when I say your input and the work involved in setting up and running this new website is very, very much appreciated. Love to you both
Sylvia & Bob. xxx

Got to agree with what everyone else has said, and hope everyone makes this a bigger and better site for Roda than the last one. Which I am sure it will be. Good luck to you both Wally
