In the best of Greek tradition, Lynda, we could be waiting until the end of the season at least, before Voula reveals her daughter's name. In fact, the name may not even be decided by Voula, but by the baby's godparents and announced only on the day of the baptism.

We all joked with Voula last summer that the baby should be called Bailey - as she and Costas reckoned she was conceived after Volula had downed a couple of large Baileys at Easter!!!
Congratulations to all the family - looking forward to seeing the new Baby in July.

Just seen all of the photographs of Voula and Kosta´s little girl... she´s beautiful! It won´t be long until she will be stealing the hearts of all the boys ...... Kosta beware!!
Note from Admin:
We have been requested to remove the photographs of Baby Koursaris due to the Greek tradition that the baby's photo is not seen outside of the immediate family until she has been to church. As soon as Voula & Kostas give us the all clear to post the photos again, we will do. Julie

We'll have to keep a close eye on Kostas, Elaine, - to see if the baby's hair 'rubs' off on him!! I have got a photo of Kostas with more hair - will publish it if I remember. Steve

On another forum I read ,that it would bring bad luck to publish photographs of newborn babies according to the greek orthodox church, is it Julie / Steve??? I never heard of this before though, will ask my greek friend here in holland. The last thing I would want is to bring bad luck.....

We've not heard of that, Petra, - I'm sure that Voula knew that pictures were being posted and I guess she didn't object.

John, Kostas rarely checks his emails, and now they are both even more fully occupied. I will tell him about the seeds when I see him, but our car is off the road at the moment and we are waiting to find him in the village. You can post things to him at: Kostas Koursaris Roda Corfu/Kerkyra TK49081 Greece There are no house names or numbers, but Eleni, the post lady from Karousades, knows Kostas well and the mail always seems to get through - anything from five to fifty days! Steve I asked my friend Despina about this story and this is her answer: "I have to tell you they (we) are very "carefull" on "showing" newborn babies. Mother and child are not supposed to go outside the first 40 days. After the Papas has blessed both the mother and the baby we can go out... This is because of the "evil eye" ." But she also says: " When my first baby, our son was born I stayed at home those first days because my mother in law (from Greece) was with us, but I did go out on my own , leaving the baby at home. A few years later ,when the twins were born (girls) things went differently because they were born in hospital and I had to go out to bring my son to "kindergarten". But in general, you better not "show" the baby."
Well, Steve ,suppose I shouldn't have published the pictures then, but on the other hand , Voula and Kostas put the photo's on their website as well, so I think they were more proud of their little girl than afraid of the evil eye....
