I hadn't spotted this before, but as I was walking passed Roda Park last night I saw that the family had put some tables down the side of the restaurant and also into a small nook further down. It all looked very inviting and charming.

Yesterday the restaurant at the new Aqua Apartments opened. They have called the restaurant Crazy Forks. There doesn't appear to be any indoor space at the moment, but they have enormous parasols that cover most of the tables. At the moment they seem to ahve no additional light, so it's a bit like the Boathouse in that respect. When I walked into the village last night there were around five or six tables of diners. Will have to try it soon before I head to The UK to see my family.
I apologis efor the poor photo I was taking it through the ralings.

I am certain that some of our long time visitors can remember the Splendour Bar next to what is Petrino Steki. It has been closed and railed off for almost as long as I can remember. Well, a section of the railing has been moved and the was a steady stream of old equipment being removed from inside the bar. I have never seen so many old cathode ray tube TV's together for such a long time. I am not sure what is happening there, but will keep my eyes and ears open for any further information.

I heard rumours that there had been a directive that limited the depths of swimming pools. Afrodite have been busy removing some of the depth in the deep end of their pool. I will try and find out more as the pool there wasn't the deepest by any means in the village, thinking of the pools at Theodoros and at Alexander Pooland Apartments.

The work continues apace at Beis Beach (I have it spelt right this time) with the shallow pool looking good and the bar taking shape, with a new entrance having been laid.Yes those are dog paw prints in the fresh concrete! There is a tall decorative stone wall going up on one side of the site. They may just have it ready for the coming season, but maybe not the start.

It is my understanding that Alexandros on the Beach (Golden Sand to the long term visitors) will be closed this summer for redevelopment. We will be watching with interest.

A few things have come to light regarding businesses in the villge.
The restaurant Red Chilli has announced it will be open every day from Friday in the evening.
La Luz has changed hands, but I don't know any more than that, but will try and find out more once I get back.
The terrace and frontage of the former Newport is looking good after all Roberto and his team's hard work.
The Roadhouse burger bar at the crossroads is up for sale and the business has moved to Sidari.
The Gnesoulis aparents opposite the Oasis Hotel were nearing completion after the completion of the perimeter wall.

Most business are opening up full from this weekend with May 1st. falling on Sunday. We do have a lot more visitors in the village than is usual at this time of year. If the early flights continue to bring early tourists the councils with have to get beaches etc. cleared and cleaned a lot earlier, though they will be lovely soon as the cleaning is in progress. All the finishing touches are being added with the former newport looking almost finished. The revamped pool at Aphrodite hotel is looking very good.
Dolphin and Roxannes beach fronts looking good.

The Boathouse was open alst night when I went passed with a good sprinkling of guests. Pako was behind the bar and Adonis from Drossia was there for support. The Harbour bar has all its seating in place so opening very soon. The Kiosk opposite the Afrodite has been open a few days now and the new businesses next to it are mostly getting ready. Afrodite has opened and the supermarket next to it. Roda Beach is also open now. The Crazy Fork restauarant at the Aqua Suites was putting in the final touches and the beach in front of it had been bulldozed level. Many of the tourist shops are now open for business.

The restaurant,Crazy forks, part of the Aqua Suites Apartments has completed the extension terrace on the beach. It looked very pretty last night with small vases of flowers on the tables and the white colour scheme. When I came back there were people enjoying a meal there. I have heard good reports about the food and the service.

The bar that is in its third season behind the bottom bus stop opposite Aphrodite Hotel which has been going under the nickname of the Bus Stop Bar has at last given itself a name. It is now the River Bar and does some food and a weekly Greek night which has just recently started. It has a small play area for young children as well. I must try it out soon.

Seaport is doing some renovations with the pile of rubble growing outside their terrace. There is a lot of tiles amonst it so I'm speculating that work is being done in the kitchens or even the toilets. Roberto did say last winter he ran out of time to do everything he wanted to.
The new apartments at Theodores are continuing apace only stopping when the weather is horrendous or it is too late in the evening. Theo is there supervising and getting involved so that they will be ready for the season. The stone wall cladding is up to the first level and starting to look good. I will have a walk past when the weather is better to get some photos.
