This week has been a good one for me even if my sightings were too short to grab the camera.
A few days ago at dusk i was driving approaching the Sfakera junction by the chicken field diagonally opposite the cemetery when a Barn Owl circled from the olive groves over the road and back over the chicken field into the olive groves again.
Today late afternoon i got the washing of the line, then stood by my kitchen door. Suddenly a falcon flew over my garden, landed in the tree just 5 yards from me, then seconds later flew off over my neighbours. It eas definitely a falcon as it was dark brownish grey all over, there was clearly no lighter barbing on the front as you get with a sparrowhawk.
These two sightings are a special treat as i usually just enjoy seeing the small migrating birds and their early fledglings in the trees and roadsides plus the two honey buzzards that regularly circle around in front of my house as they gain height before heading off up towards the hills behind Sfakera.

We've had a similar falcon around for a few weeks now Dave - it's fascinating to hear all the small birds fall silent and turn around to watch when he's on the pole behind us. Some times, our one lands on the door light just a few inches above our bedroom window - we're suddenly aware of it swooping up as it lands.
