Good morning from Sfakera where it is an almost identical start to yesterday, just a few more high, thin, wispy clouds around. They sre not preventing the sun, the sea is calm, the air is still and visibility good. 11c at 9am.
Yesterday was a wonderful day, just the odd passing cloud or high thin layer but nothing to stop the sun. A light wind for a few hours in the afternoon but gone well before sunset, in fact it was still nice to sit outside in just a polo shirt. I had my dinner sat outside it was so nice. After nightfall the temperature slowly fell away but we again enjoyed a star and moonlit night, even a few early fireflies to be seen.
The maximum temperature was 22.6c, the minimum was 10.2c.

Yes Steve, for those here now before the main Easter events there is nothing better than a drive in the countryside, wild flowers and judas trees in blossom everywhere, magnificent clear views, locals out working, in gardens, whitewashing etc and of course long sunny days.

Good morning from Sfakera, today was a cloudy start, but very high clouds. Clear and still but slightly hazy looking at Albania. 14c at 10am and the sun has now cleared most of the cloud, the sea dark blue against a pale blue sky is calm.
Yesterday was again lovely, the sun dominated even through a thin layer of clouds in the west late afternoon although it gave a nondescript sunset. A light wind very briefly in mid afternoon otherwise a pleasant breeze. There was a bit more cloud around as night came but we still could see plenty of stars. Walking home from the taverna at midnight it was still mild and my jacket almost seemed an unnecessary extra.
The maximum temperature was 21.2c, the minimum was 10.2c.

Ssssh! Kaz. We have a bad forecast for Good Friday and Saturday the 2 main days of Easter events in Town, 17,000 cruise ship passengers due here over weekend.
Weather says rain, lots of it and thunderstorms starting during tonight. At 6pm today sun still out but lots high clouds around. The saving grace in this bad forecast could be the unliked maistro wind from north west which is also forecast for next few days - it could this time do Corfu a favour and blow the storms away keeping us dry for the celebrations. All will be revealed in my next few reports.

Good morning from Sfakera, where we have a dry, still but full cloud cover start to the day. A light breeze and mild 14.9c at 8am. The clouds are fast moving, Albania just a shadow of lower slopes 20 minutes ago is now more visible further north.
Yesterday morning was sunny but clouds started to roll in, individual white fluffy to start.and after midday more of a layer of small clouds giving a pebble effect but hardly stopping the sun, which was very warm if you were in direct sunlight. There was the odd interval without sun. The sea looked calm. By late afternoon greyer banks of cloud were appearing to the west and north west, we didn't get a sunset as it went behind the clouds before 7pm.
The clouds were still fast moving, one moment part hiding Albania with streaks of lower lighter cloud hanging down the slopes, the next moment clear as it moved on. The skies did look threatening and it started to rain at 7.45pm. By the time i had closed the shutters and windows in readiness for a storm, it had stopped! Within an hour i could see coastal lights shining brightly on Albania. The cloud was dominating as no stars were visible. This kept it mild so it was still 16.9c at 10pm.
The maximum temperature was 21.5c, the minimum was 11.2.

The Judas trees are only just starting too flower in Provence & Liguria - the weather in much of Europe has been very cold, wet & windy and as bad as it has been in Corfu, the plants are still responding earlier.

Good morning from Sfakera. It is a fine still start to the day, almost cloudless with thin wispy streaks in places. The sun is up, the sea calm and a haze along the Albanian coast. 12.6c at 8.30am.
Yesterday the clouds slowly cleared and a breeze picked up as the sun shone brightly. By 11am the sea was full of whitetops indicating the coming maistro yet it was still a light breeze in the village. The breeze got stronger but was never more than a light wind here but the increasing whitetops suggested it was much stronger on the coast. By 6pm the air was still again and the whitetops began to slowly reduce but in silent moments i could still hear the waves on the shore. There was a glorious orange ball of a sunset just before 8pm and a perfect starlit night was the accompaniment to the Procession with the Brier in the village, well supported and the candles held by all flickering brightly. A lovely solemn occasion to end a glorious spring day.
The maximum temperature was 22.2c, the minimum was 14.2c.

Good morning from Sfakera where it is a wonderful start to the day, clear, still, almost cloudless, sunny and a calm blue sea. 14.7c at 10am.
Yesterday the cloud dispersed and we had a lovely sunny day with a light wind. Those at the pot smashing in Sfakera were mostly in t-shirts or the locals in light jackets. There was a lovely orange sunset at 8pm followed by a starlit night, that was mild and perfect for the fireworks and gunshots at midnight. The whole area lit up and the sound was briefly deafening.
The maximum temperature was 23.6c, the minimum was 12.6c.
The forecast is showing a lovely sunny week with temperatures maybe peaking at 27c on Thursday - lets hope so.

Good morning from Sfakera. Today it is clear with a haze over Albania, the sun is up, the sea is calm and there is a light wind. It was 16.4c at 8am, the sky cloudless.
Yesterday was a wonderful day, ideal for the spit roasting of lamb as only a hint of breeze. Even in Sfakera there was the smell of cooking meat in the air. Morning was almost silent, just the odd passing car as people lay in after the midnight celebrations last night. By 2.30pm you could here Greek music playing, families chatting and the clink of cutlery on plates as meals were being enjoyed. The sun just got warmer as the day went on, time to get the sun lotion out as you will burn if you are in the direct sunlight too long. There was another lovely orange sunset at 8pm again followed by a warm starlit night.
The maximum temperature was 25.2c, the minimum was 12.7c.

Good morning from Sfakera, Easter is over, nearly as many village festivals now follow, but now is the time the summer business owners really get busy making their accommodation, taverna, shop ready for the season which probably starts last weekend this month for most.
This morning we wake to a clear, still almost cloudless sky and a rising sun glinting off the remaining snow on Albanian peaks. The sea looks lovely in two shades of blue and is calm. It is 13.8c at 8.30am.
Yesterday clouds, white banks off them rolled in from the west and by midday the sun was shrouded, it remained warm with the odd glimpse of sun despite the light wind being constant. Finally approaching 6pm the bank of clouds had passed sufficiently to allow the sun to return, very warm and glowing a creamy colour, almost white at its centre. This gave us a lovely sunset. By that time the clouds were almost gone in the east and as night fell so the stars became evident, increasing in number the darker it became. The wind also dropped to give a pleasant mild night.
The maximum temperature was again 25.2c, the minimum was 15.5c.

Good morning from Sfakera, a two day report as i was offline yesterday.
Tuesday - a lovely sunny morning but clouds rolled in, a high bank that took away the sun apart from odd brief sunny period. It remained cloudy for the rest of the day and into the night. Maximum temperature was 20.0c, minimum was 13.2c.
Wednesday - started with full cloud cover and Albania looking distant through a cloudy haze. It was still but approaching midday a light southerly wind help clear the clouds and from mid afternoon until sunset we had sunshine. The sunset was a lovely yellow. After nightfall we hadd a clear starlit sky. The maximum temperature was 23.3c, the minimum was 13.2c.
Today we started with a heavy haze all around delaying the sun until it broke through. The air is still, sea calm and it looks set to be a fine day.

Good morning from Sfakera. It was a hazy start, low mist over the olive groves, the sea just visible but Albania hidden. There was the hint of the rising sun trying to breakthrough but that didn't happen until gone 9am, however it was 16c at 8am.
Yesterday the sun cleared all the haze to give us a glorious day, you could feel the heat and sun lotion is now a must if you are to sit in the sun. A light breeze came and after midday there were occasional gusts of stronger wind, these continued getting stronger until about 7pm. Sat in the garden it was lovely, watching the scare swallowtail butterflies feed on the orange blossom. Following a bright yellow sunset we had a mild starlit night, it was still over 20c at 10pm.
The maximum temperature was 27.1c, the minimum was 13.3c.
