Good morning from Roda. And so the lovely mornings continue. When I opened the door to let in the heat and the sound of the waves coming ashore I was greeted by a celestial blue sky decorated with pretty white clouds and a great view of Albania across a slightly ruffled sea. There is almost no wind so I have hung out the mattress topper and coverlet to get a good airing, Greek style, hanging from the balcony rail. The rest of the bedding is in the machine and will go out later, it dries very quickly at the moment. We love the clean smell of washing dried outside. Fortunately no bonfires close to us at the moment. Breakfast will be enjoyed in the sun on the balcony.
Yesterday started off lovely but cool, but the clouds increased as usual over the last few days and by late afternoon we had 100% cover. There was still no real wind, the sea was calm but feeling generally a bit cooler than the day before. The evening stayed cool and dark with no stars to light the way, and the lights from Albania were not as numerous. It was a cool 14°C at 11pm.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 5th November 2018 was 18.8°C, real feel 20°C, and the humidity 76% giving a dew point of 14°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 17.9°C and the minimum 8.7°C. A day of sunshine and good visibility.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 21.9°C (real feel 23°C), and the minimum was 12.3°C , a dew point of 16°C. The maximum humidity was 81% and the minimum 69%.
The reported UV for today is low at 3 ( Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). The maximum temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2018 was 33.0°C real feel 35°C, on 8th June. The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C

Good morning from Roda. We have a clear blue sky and glorious sunshine, despite the shade temperature being a bit on the cool side in the sun it is baking. There is no wind, the sea is flat calm but I can hear small waves coming ashore and Albania is pretty clear across the channel. Not bad for the 6th November. The night was quite cool but no condensation on the windows, it does play havoc with my curtains!
Yesterday broke the current mould in that it stayed pleasant all day with blue sky and some clouds. Again, in full sun it was lovely but we were a bit too late to go for a swim as the afternoon cooled off quite quickly. There was a stunning sunset that seemed to involve the whole sky at one point, with the colours reflected back and picked up by the western sky. The coolness continued into the evening when we were treated to a seemingly cloudless sky full of stars, and the lights around the bay twinkled attractively.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 6th November 2018 was 16.3°C, real feel 20°C, and the humidity 79% giving a dew point of 12°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 19.1°C and the minimum 10.1°C. A day of mostly clouds with some sunshine and then heavy thundery rain.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.1°C (real feel 22°C), and the minimum was 13.9°C , a dew point of 14°C. The maximum humidity was 80% and the minimum 59%.

Good morning from Roda. What a change from yesterday, the clear skies have been replaced by an increasingly cloudy one and we are due rain starting this afternoon with a possible evening thunderstorm. This is no wind though and the sea is only slightly ruffled and the temperatures are mostly holding up. So all-in-all we cannot complain. As I write this Steve is in the garden planting his broad beans, the doors and windows are wide open and it is still 21°C in the house and no heating required yet.
Yesterday was an amazing day weather-wise, it stayed clear skied all day with only one or two brave clouds daring to brave an appearance. We managed a couple of hours on the beach and even a couple of really good swims. The water is still cool on entry, but once in it is lovely once you have swam enough to warm the muscles. We both felt invigorated afterwards and quite virtuous. The lack of wind and higher dew point meant that temperature of 20°C in the shade was quite hot in the sun, so we just sunbathed to dry off. The lack of clouds lead to a monochromic sunset and a dark and starlit night. The absence of much of the haze meant that there were a lot of lights on both sides of the channel to be seen. However once that sun went to bed we are reminded that is autumn and it felt a little cool on our walk back from the village, not so cold that I had to fasten my light jacket up.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Wednesday 7th November 2018 was 16.8°C, real feel 18°C, and the humidity 83% giving a dew point of 14°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 18.1°C and the minimum 15.4°C.A wild, wet and windy day with thunderstorms.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.0°C (real feel 22°C), and the minimum was 11.3°C , a dew point of 16°C. The maximum humidity was 80% and the minimum 70%.
The reported UV for today is low at 3 ( Range 1- 11+). Good morning from Roda. It feels autumnal today, we even have a good crop of mushrooms on the lawns. Whether they are edible or not is anybody's guess. We have a completely cloud covered sky with times of drizzle. The clouds are low and fill some of the higher valleys, and are well down the flanks of the Albanian mountains across the grey, but calm, sea. It is quite clear but cool, with Albania mostly visible especially to the west. The lack of any real wind continues.
Yesterday was mostly cloudy but reasonably bright, and the sun did make the occasional appearance, especially during the afternoon. The wind did stir itself to give us a bit of a gust every now and then, but was mostly absent. The drizzle and rain started in the early evening, though we did manage to walk back home in the dry. It must have continued through the night as the ground looks quite wet this morning.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Thursday 8th November 2018 was 15.9°C, real feel 15°C, and the humidity 86% giving a dew point of 14°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 18.2°C and the minimum 12.6°C. A mixed day with thunderstorms, rain and even some sunshine with the wind dying down.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.5°C (real feel 19°C), and the minimum was 11.9°C , a dew point of 15°C. The maximum humidity was 85% and the minimum 66%.

I just love your descriptions Jan and sooo wish we were there Would love to be able to buy somewhere in the area. So pleased you like my reports Maudy. Sometimes the words come easier than at other times. A solution to your dilemma would be to find a place and rent it for the year, then you can come and go as you wish. I always advise people to see Corfu and Roda in the winter as it is so different without our visitors. The area around Roda is good as there are many businesses that are all year with all the everyday services you need almost on the doorstep. Banks, supermarkets, medical facilities, shops, cafes and restaurants. Despite Roda and nearby Acharavi are small by population they have everything you would expect to find in a sizeable town in the UK.

Good morning from Roda. That autumnal feeling from yesterday has gone with the bright sunshine and clear blue skies that greeted us this morning. We did feel a bit reptilian as we rushed from our warm bed onto the hot balcony to keep warm like lizards finding the morning heat before they can start their day. There is some haze towards Albania, and what few clouds that are around are snagged on their peaks. The sea is calm and inviting and there is almost no wind again.
Yesterday started off very wet, but we had pretty good visibility and there was no wind. Despite the cloud and the drizzle it was quite bright, but decidedly cool. As the day progressed the clouds broke up and we saw patches of blue that grew to almost fill the sky by the evening. So, we had a sunset leading to a very clear but cool evening. The stars shone in the black firmament and it seemed we could see every light in every Albanian village across the channel. It continued to cool with the coldest temperature of the day recorded in the late evening.
A few photos taken late yesterday afternoon.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 9th November 2018 was 14.4°C, real feel 16°C, and the humidity 87% giving a dew point of 11°C. The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 16.3°C and the minimum 10.5°C. A lovely sunny day with a few clouds, feeling hot in the sun.

Good morning from Roda. We have another cool but sunny start to the day with a few clouds on the periphery. The humidity is high but the visibility is good with Albanian quite clear across the channel. The sea looks calm, but I can't hear it due to the fact that we have a cement mixer going at Nino's. Again there is barely a breath of wind, and like yesterday, the clouds are gradually increasing. But for the time of year 17°C in the shade is fine by me for having breakfast outside on the balcony.
Yesterday was mostly a lovely sunny and warm day, though Roda seemed to be unlucky in that it got shaded by the occasional one and only big cloud in the sky. We could see Acharavi and Roda Beach Hotel all in full sun as we cooled under that cloud. The sea and the wind both remained calm, but we didn't go for a swim as were put off by those few clouds. I missed the sunset, but we had a dark starlit night with most of the Albanian lights on show reflected in the long low waves coming ashore. As is usual at this time of year, once the sun has gone to bed it cools rapidly.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Saturday 10th November 2018 was 14.8°C, real feel 15°C, and the humidity 84% giving a dew point of 12°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 16.6°C and the minimum 9.8°C. A lovely sunny start day with a few clouds building up to 100% coverage. First snows of winter on the Albania peaks.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 19.1°C (real feel 19°C), and the minimum was 9.8°C , a dew point of 14°C. The maximum humidity was 87% and the minimum 70%.

Good morning from Roda. It was another beautiful but chilly start to the day, so we dashed from a warm bed to the hot and sunny balcony to enjoy the lovely weather and our lovely view. At least the weather is dry for the services that will be held here today. There is fair visibility with Albania reasonably clear across the calm sea. There is little wind, the sea is calm and there are some pretty white clouds decorating the sky.
Yesterday stayed mostly sunny with clouds gathering for a while in the afternoon. Though by the time it got round to sunset they were reduced to a few streaks across the sky. The wind remained absent completely, as did anything in the way of waves. It was an OK sunset through the lack of any real amount of clouds. We had a slightly warmer evening, the first part of which was graced with a sliver of a waxing crescent moon. Once this had gone to bed there were numerous stars to delight us, and of course all the lights around and across the bay.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 11th November 2018 was 15.5°C, real feel 17°C, and the humidity 78% giving a dew point of 12°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 16.6°C and the minimum 13.7°C. A day of thunder and lighning with heavy rain at times. Though the rain and wind eased off completely by the evening.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.9°C (real feel 20°C), and the minimum was 9.4°C , a dew point of 14°C. The maximum humidity was 85% and the minimum 69%.

Good morning from Roda. I could say just read yesterday's report as we have stable weather. Lovely sunshine after a cool start a few clouds Albania is there but hazy across the calm sea and there is no wind. Such is the difference a few minutes makes at this time of year. We leap out of bed to get wrapped in dressing gowns against the chill, fling open the kitchen door to let in the warmth, sit down for breakfast on the balcony in the sun and then wish we hadn't put on them on as we were melting. The opposite happens at the other end of the day, we are basking in the sun in almost summer clothes, then the sun goes to bed sending us scurrying for warm tops and jackets.
Yesterday was lovely all day, blue skies a few pretty clouds not much wind a calm sea and fairly good visibility. People were out on the decks at Alexandros and Pirates enjoying the warmth and the ability to continue the outdoor experience. Sunset was beautiful with the sky turning blood red with the buildings and trees back lit by it. The crescent moon is getting bigger in the starlit sky. Another wonderful walk to and from the village last night enjoying the peace and calm. A photo from the morning and one at sunset, both lovely views.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 12th November 2018 was 15.5°C, real feel 17°C, and the humidity 78% giving a dew point of 12°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 19.3°C and the minimum 14.7°C. A mostly cloudy day with some good sunny spells and a few drops of rain, distant thunder in evening.

Good morning from Roda. This lovely stable weather continues with the very cool start to the day warming up nicely with the warm sun in a clear blue sky. We still have no real wind, just the merest of on-shore breezes by the sea. The sea looks flat calm and beautiful and blue but I can hear a wave coming ashore. I am hoping it isn't too big as I am planning on getting in a couple of swims today, like I did yesterday. We still have some haze but Albania is still fairly clear across the channel. The smoke from the bonfires added to the appearance of haze on the foothills behind us.
Yesterday was beautiful and we managed a good hour on the beach with only one or two others enjoying the sun. As i have already said I enjoyed two good swims in the calm sea, and it was a bit cool getting in, but once in it was lovely and refreshing and I felt very virtuous when we headed home. We do have two seasons in one day at the moment, summer clothes from around 11am to about 4pm then winter comes and thicker warmer clothing is required. Steve is even muttering about getting his scarf out! We had a lovely clear night, after another lovely sunset, with a waxing crescent moon and so many stars. The walk back is usually solitary and we enjoy the peace and the vista. There was even a small well lit ship sailing passed to add to the romantic feel.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 13th November 2018 was 14.5°C, real feel 16°C, and the humidity 85% giving a dew point of 12°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. A trip to Corfu Town means a late report. The lovely weather continues with a cool start to the day followed by clear skies sunshine no wind and a calm sea, though I could hear some waves coming ashore. There were drifts of smoke lingering in the valleys as people are aware that the good weather is coming to an end to be followed by quite an unsettled period. Still lovely in the sun as we wandered through the market full of lovely local fruit and vegetables, not to mention plenty of fresh locally caught fish.
Yesterday was glorious with a good long spell on the beach and two nice long swims in the flat calm crystal clear waters. Cool enough to be invigorating. The skies stayed clear for the most part with only a few clouds edging in on the southern perimeter. The wind stayed absent so we marched via a fairly monochromatic sunset, pink over the mountains, into a very cool starlit night with the moon growing to about a third in size. The haze was a bit deeper so less lights around the bay on our walk back. We are due one or two more days of this, so must get my washing out tomorrow.
The temperature at 9.00 am on Wednesday 14th November 2018 was 11.3°C, real feel 13°C, and the humidity 85% giving a dew point of 8°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 18.6C and the minimum 15.6°C. A mostly cloudy day with some sun but also thunder and lightning.

Good morning from Roda. The good weather is coming to an end with increasing clouds after a bright clear but cool start to the day. We have noisy waves coming ashore, and just the hint of a breeze. The haze has increased so Albania has disappeared from the horizon and our hills are extra murky with the bonfire smoke. It was still nice and warm eating breakfast on the balcony.
Yesterday was lovely, warm and sunny all day, cool when you got in the shade, but lovely walking around town in the hot autumnal sunshine. There was a pretty sunset and a moonlit, starlit night on the cool side with the waves starting to increase and crash onto the sea front by The Boathouse.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Thursday 15th November 2018 was 14.9°C, real feel 16°C, and the humidity 85% giving a dew point of 13°C. Good morning from Roda. We got up to cloudy breezy morning but mild, and it soon started to drizzle. The sea is choppy and a deep steel grey colour, with a dark Albania beyond with clouds gathered in the valleys. The temperature is dropping as the morning progresses so it is colder now than at midnight! The shower has now stopped and it is looking brighter with a few almost blue patches around. We are due almost a week of this unsettled and cooler weather with lots of wind and rain particularly on Tuesday. Wellie boots need finding. But I got the vast majority of the washing done and dried.
Yesterday was a dry day but quite cloudy at times, though there were quite long periods of sunshine they were muted by thin high clouds. The sea was very noisy with the waves coming ashore and Albania was completely absent on the horizon. It felt a lot cooler than Wednesday even though the temperature were the same, all to do with UV, wind or lack of it, humidity and several other unknown factors I haven't been able to get my head around. The internet doesn't help as the weather sites can give different 'real feel' depending on how they calculate it. I tend to average out several and hope that is near enough. It was still mild enough to sit outside with a cardy on having tea and watching the sun go down over the Karousades ridge. It was a pretty and quite pastel event with just a short splash of orange. The evening was quite cloudy with the moon attempting to shine through it all, and the haze still with us as Albania was still absent. It was quite mild with the temperature at midnight 14°C.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 16th November 2018 was 13.0°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity 68% giving a dew point of 7°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 18.1C and the minimum 13.9°C. A very wet and windy start becoming quite pleasant with sunny spells by the end of the afternoon.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 18.3°C (real feel 18°C), and the minimum was 9.0°C , a dew point of 15°C. The maximum humidity was 85% and the minimum 73%.
