Having seen what looked to be the finished article at Crusoe’s, and with no one working there for the last few days, we assumed that Alex would open this weekend like everyone else. It seems that they are still not ready though, and they may not be there in time for this week’s FGT. We’ll be outside at 11am just in case but, if the bar is still closed, we’ll head off to Pirates’ Bar if there’s anyone here who wants to meet.

Apologies in advance, but neither Jan nor I will make it to the next two FGTs at Pirates’ & Yummies. It’s possible Dave might be there, but we can’t confirm that at the moment.

A small gathering of Dave & Lynn and Ian & Lynn plus myself met in the sun on Pirates decking, a lovely day compared to yesterday. It was surprising how many tourists seemed to be walking around Roda or having a late breakfast this morning. Outside Pirates being particularly popular on sunny days.
Just to confirm i will be at Yummies next Wednesday at 11am.

I have not posted on here since July 2009 when I witnessed the young lad Nathan being hit by a car outside Dromeas. Glad to see the forum is still going strong. We were last in Roda in July 2015 staying at the Pegasus and also Angelinas which were both great. We are returning on 2/7/2017 and I have already got us booked in at the Roda Park for Dinner. This time we thought we would stay in Acharavi at the Nireas next door to the Matoula. I just wondered if anyone knows the Nireas which used to be run by a Suzanne and Mac.
I was sad to hear that five roses has now closed - we spent a lot of time in there playing pool. Eleni was such a friendly person - it would be nice to know what she is up to now.
I hope to make your meeting at the New Port on the 5th of July.
Keep up the good work Steve and the rest of the team.
Regards Kevin

These FGTs are such an integral part of our summer that it was strange missing one, let along two! Jan and Steve

Thanks for your support Kevin ... we look forward to seeing you in July. The last we saw of Eleni, she was in Travel Spot, next to the Brandy Shop ... maybe she will be working there at some point. If we see her, we’ll ask what she’s doing this year.

Steve Thanks Steve. I appreciate this is a forum about Roda but I would be very grateful if anybody has any information on the Nireas apartments in Acharavi which is next door to the Matoula. I asked Kostas at Roda Park about a Suzanne and Mac who used to run the Nireas about 5 years ago as there are lots of photos of the Roda park on their website but he has not come back with any info. I kind of regret now not booking in Roda - Kostas told me his new villa is 330 euros per day in July - and that price is to friends ! (390 per day on booking.com) - it does look nice though. Theos and Angelina's are great properties and seem to be a favourite of Steve's ?

I can’t give you much information about Nireas, Kevin, other than its location. Mac & Suzanne left about five years ago and I’ve not noticed any work being carried out there during that time. I think it was on the market for a while, but so was Matoula. There still seem to be sufficient clients there during the summer months and online booking methods have changed considerably since then.

It was nice to meet up again with Dave and Linda and Carol and husband (sorry i forget your name) in Yummies, which has been nicely refurbished to give more seating. Alex from Golden Sands popped in to chat on leaving the mini market next door.
Next week the FGT is at Skouna.
