A thin spread of grey clouds tipped in pinky red with glimpes of blue was the scene at daybreak. As the sun touched the highest snow peak in Albania it looked like a lighthouse, the sea looks a calm dark blue. A mild night witha temperature of 11.2c at 8am, however by 9am there were spots of rain unlikely to become a shower in Sfakera whilst the sun was rising in Roda.
Yesterday was a strange day, the morning cloud cover and breeze stopped the usual increase in temperature and it felt chilly again at 1pm. However within half an hour the sun managed to breakthrough and the clouds, almost as if in resignation, soon thinned dramatically to give a sunny late afternoon and sent the temperature racing to a maximum of 17c. Just before sunset the clouds thickened and at 5.30pm following initial spots there was a short, light shower in Sfakera. Evening was mainly cloudy with some stars vusible in breaks and a hint of the moon behind thin clouds. The minimum temperature was 8.2c.

Waking to a grey day feeling chillier than it was i caught a glimpse of the snow moon slipping behind the clouds, it had not been visable last night. The temperature was still falling and was 9.5c at 10am. Now total cloud cover but high, light breeze but hard to predict if the sun will come through.
A nice suuny day with some passing clouds hit a high of 17c yesterday, very pleasant sat with dogs on balcony during the late afternoon in just a polo shirt. It is days like this that you really enjoy as you know they never occur in the UK this time of year, many spring flowers are beginning to appear at the roadsides, edges of the olive groves and in gardens. Mainly daisy types in white, yellow, purple and blue.
As night approached so the cloud cover increased and we were unable to see the snow moon before midnight. Also last night, well 4 to 5.30 am was the best time to see the Green Comet, called Honda (comet 45P), it has emerald glow with a blue tail and is in the eastern skies in the constellation Hercules. Although 20x the distance to the moon away it would have been visable with good binoculars or a telescope, but unfortunately there was too much cloud cover. It should still be possible to see it the next few mornings should we get a cloudless night.
The minimum temperature was 10.9c

This morning was chilly due to there only being the odd high wispy cloud around, apart from far out to sea. Albania is almost hidden by haze. The sun was up early but it was only 8c at 10am. It is an almost still air, damp following a heavy dew last night. Sadly the high wispy cloud prevented sight of the Honda Comet, another wasted early rising for me!
Yesterday the clouds slowly dispersed and the sun shone in all its glory, hitting a high of 16.3c before giving us a glorious bright yellowy orange sunset. As night fell so we saw the day old snow moon, still very bright in the cloudless sky, shortly after a sky full of stars except through the wispy clouds Albania way. You could even see the moon's light shining on the sea from my balcony.
The minimum was 9.5c.

This morning we woke to rain, the shower started about midnight and continued throughout the night. It ceased just after 8am but it remains overcast and damp. It was 10.5c at 10am.
Yesterday started nice and sunny and being a Sunday there were more people out and about in Roda on the beach front. Unlike the previous day it started to cloud over mid afternoon so the maximum only peaked at 14.5c (real feel 16c). The cloud was high but thickened as the evening went by turning to rain at midnight.
The minimum was 6.9c.

During the night we had a very heavy shower but it had passed by the time i got up at 6am. As dawn came there was partial cloud cover but a haze where the dampness was evaporating. I was in Town on business and it was very pleasant as the sun came up, the sea blue and calm, the port looking quiet but there were queues at the ticket booths at 7.15am.
Yesterday the weather after the lengthy night rains never really improved, it stayed grey all day with just a brief sunny interval late afternoon but not enough to lift the maximum above 10.5c. Evening and early night was partial cloud and it was rather chilly late evening. The minimum temperature was 8.1c.

Today we wake to a much colder but cloudless morning with a grey Albania showing clearly, all will colour up once the rising sun hits its peaks before coming round to us over Pantocrator. There is no breeze but the air is cold, at 8am it was just 5.6.
As the sun got up yesterday so it was hindered by the rising haze and whilst very pleasant in the afternoon with people sat out on the beach bars the maximum temperature was 12.4c (real feel 13c). The sunset was also affected by the haze but the evening was clear and starlit. You could also feel the temperature falling away as nightime came. The sea yesterday was pancake flat, with not even a small wave on the beach.
The minimum temperature was 8.1c.

Again a cool but cloudless morning with cold airin a slight breeze and good visibility. At 9am it is just 6.9c.
Yesterday was sunshine all day with hardly a cloud to be seen, the sea again flat. In the sunshine it was glorious but in the shade a jacket was needed, at Nymphes watching football sat in shade there was also a slight cold breeze coming down the hill behind, but the view was of the sun over the olive groves and hhigh peaks. The maximum of 15.9c (real feel 16.5c) preceding a sunset that was blurred by haze. As the starlit night drew in so the temperature started to fall away. Walking home from the taverna at midnight the view of the stars was magnificent but tiredness took me indoors before i had fully enjoyed their glory. The minimum temperature was 5.3c.

This morning was more humid with a cloud hovering the olive groves near Agros and haze over Roda. The sun was coming jp but clouds were also rolling in. At 8am it was 7.8c. By 12 midday it is just sunny intervals as the clouds thicken, Albania only partially visable by its coastline.
Yesterday again was a glorious day with the maximum reaching 16.9c (feeling even warmer if sat in sun and cooler in shade). The sea was deep blue with small waves rolling slowly in, several small fishing boats out in the bay. As it moved towards sunset so it became more hazy and visability reduced but it very pleasant in the starlit night heading to the taverna for Tsiknopempti bouzouki night, by 3.30am on way home so the clouds were already forming. The minimum was 6.1c.

A nice daybreak here with some clouds over Albania which was totally hidden. It was 8c at 8am with a very light breeze, hopefully nice for drying.
Yesterday the haze slowly lifted, to give a nice sunny day but clouds were forming so we soon had just sunny intervals keeping the maximum down to 14.7c. The sea was again calm. It is lovely walking weather and more and more flowers are appearing each day, i have an orchid flowering in my garden, with black petals. Evening was partial cloud but some stars visable, cool in the breeze, with a minimum of 7.3c.

Just after midnight rumbles of distant thunder and a light shower, within the hour the thunderstorm rolled in accompanied by heavy rains then followed by showers which continued till after 8am. It was mild being 11.5c at 9am. The sea can be heard before you reach the beach for the first time in ages but the waves are small, the sea is however higher up the beach than it has been. It remains overcast with mixture of grey patches, white patches and odd hint of blue behind. Light grey clouds hide the peaks behind Roda whilst Albania is invisible.
Yesterday a breeze picked up and the washing dried quickly. Nice sunny intervals meant it was very pleasant whilst gardening. Clouds came and went and as the afternoon progressed they lessened and ee had a glorious couple of hours pushing the maximum temperature up to 16.5c. By 5pm the clouds were returning and by 6pm it was raining, we guess it was on way as it was raining in Ionionna who were playing Corfu at football on the tv. The shower didn't last too long but the evening remained damp leading up to the rains in the early hours today. The minimum temperature was 8.2c.

Following a partially cloudy but starlit night we wake to blue skies ahead and over the peaks behind but grey clouds, thick in places over the sea but clearer over Albania. The air was cool but still, the clouds slowly moving inland. As it approaches 10am it is 10.2c.
Although the early storms yesterday stopped by 8am the grey skies continued and mid morning saw a further light shower. I went to Kassioppi for football ko 11.30 and there we had a light shower around midday for 20 minutes or so. Once past the sun tried to breakthrough without much success but enough to warm up the air. Returning to Sfakera we did get some mid afternoon sun and the clouds began to break up. The maximum was 14.5c. As evening drew in so the clouds continued to thin and we had a starlit sky and chilly air by 9.30pm.
The minimum temperature was 9.2c.

An absolutely wonderful daybreak this morning, just the odd cloud in the far distance, a beautiful sunrise over the peaks behind Roda making it feel warmer as it was a chilly start after a starlit night, at 7am it was 6.4c. Albania is visable behind a thin haze and the sun is highlighting the snow capped mountain tops, the sea very calm rippling onto the beach. A great day to go walking and enjoy the ever increasing number of flowers.
Yesterday clouds came and went in the breeze giving us sunny intervals, some of which were prolonged and it was pleasant even though the maximum temperature was 14.9c. As evening turned to night so the clouds finally dispersed to give us a chilly starlit night.
The minimum temperature was 7.3c.

It is almost an identical start to the day as it was yesterday but today is totally cloudless. I can also see some small whitetops on the sea today, a change after weeks of being almost flat. At 8.15am it was 9c but the sun hasn't reached Sfakera as yet.
Yesterday stayed glorious sunshine all day with just some high wispy clouds in late afternoon early evening. However there was a light but chilly breeze which kept the maximum at 15.7c. It did feel warmer in the sun when sheltered from the breeze. A lovely starlit night followed.
The minimum temperature was 6.1c.

Another morning with a heavy dew but looking out from my balcony cloudless with the sun coming up. However a look behind reveals white fluffy clouds from east to west across the island over the mountains, even covering the higher peaks. At 10am it was 10.5c.
Yesterday was a superb day, sun from sunrise to sunset peaking at 17.5c. In the morning i went to Old Perithia and walked for 2 hours in the hills above and behind the village, beautiful, some haze when looking to Albania, sound of goat bells in distance, see couple hunters, some small flowers out but the gorse and broom are not yet in bud so it was green between the rocks. View back over the village, deserted apart from Thomas at Faros and one other person, was picture postcard perfect with the sun highlighting the roofs of restored properties and their lawns. This weather is just perfect for walking in just polo shirt and even shorts. The afternoon sat on the balcony it was like June in the Uk! Sunset was at 6.11pm but it was still light until nearly 7pm with the set sun turning some of the high streaky clouds pink. Once dark there was a near perfect bright starlit night and it was still 12.6c as midnight came.
The low yesterday was 7.6c.

Lots of thick very cloud around this morning, looks very threatening, but also some blue sky above Pantocrator allowing the sun to rise. It was 11.5c at 7am! A very slight breeze meaning it is pleasant in the sun.
It was strange yesterday the clouds over Pantocrator moved north so covering Roda in the morning with the sun shining underneath in intervals. There was a light wind also from the south so it was warmer than tthose of late. The temperature kept rising even when the sun was hidden but when it came fully out late afternoon it shot up to max at 18.3ceven though the day did not seem as glorious as the past few. As dusk fell so we had a starlit start but as late evening arrived so the clouds started to roll in.
The minimum temperature was 7.6c.
