A good morning to you all from Sfakera. There was a light shower during the night but we wake to high clouds and a glimpse of sun, however thicker clouds are over the sea and again Albania is barely visable. The air is still and fresh and at 9.30am it is 8.2c.
Yesterday was a grey day with no sun and the temperature rising very slowly. After a short mid morning shower it just remained full cloud cover all day and evening. The sea was flat with hardly a wave to be seen. The maximum temperature was 10.2c and the minimum 6.8c.

Well the word for today as recent days is GREY. Grey clouds, grey sea, grey hills behind with clouds sitting on their shoulders, grey mist and cloud hiding Albania. A mild night and 9.8c at 7.30am soon became another shower, which has now cleared leaving high grey clouds covering the sky completely.
Yesterday was grey too, isolated showers late morning, heavier in Roda than here in the village. A hint of sun trying to break through but soon to vanish. Heavier showers mid afternoon kept it as a day to stay indoors with the comfort of the sumba, housework and cooking the order of the day interspersed with reading. The maximum gradually rose to 11.6c which was not unpleasant as there was hardly any breeze and hardly any waves on the beach. The evening came with some breaks in the clouds giving a sight of a thin crescent moon and maybe a promise for a better tomorrow. Minimum was 7.5c. As mentioned above the promise was not fulfilled.

Thanks Dave for the weather report, and thanks Dave & Linda too. Hope you are feeling better, Dave - we’re in an almost empty campsite tonight in a cold and misty Milan, just along from the San Siro stadium. Off tomorrow to Lucerne, Mulhouse and then Strasbourg.

This morning we woke to see the grey clouds moving away to be replaced by blue skies and high white fluffy clouds. There is a slight breeze and at 9.30am it was 10c. My washing was out early to dry. Whilst the sea looks blue Albania is still almost invisible through low clouds and haze.
Yesterday it stayed grey all day with just a glimpse of sun during the afternoon. After the morning shower it stayed dry til mid afternoon when there was a light shower but come evening it became continual rain until almost midnight. The maximum was 12.5c and the minimum 9.0c

After a starlit night the clouds returned and this morning it is again grey with complete cover and looking like rain. At 10am it was 9.8c. Albania is invisible and the sea dark.
Yesterday the weather improved as the day progressed, there were hugh grey clouds over Pantocrator and the lower hills above Episkepsi that kept Sfakera in the shade all morning, however Roda was bathed in sunshine. In the afternoon as the sun moved westwards Sfakera too bathed in its glory. The day was long and there was a lovely sunset and for the first time this year it was still light well after 6pm. As day turned to night so the stars appeared as did lights on Albania, which had been visible for the first time in a while. The maximum was 13.7c, the minimum 9.5c.

Following a wet night there was a further shower at 6.30am, these rains speed up the fall of oranges and mandarins. It stopped leaving high grey clouds with tints of blue but dark threatening clouds all around. Albania invisible again as are the tops of the Pantocrator range. At 8am it was a very mild 12c.
Yesterday was grizmal, grey and wet, even when not raining air was wet like you were inside the clouds. A dry start promised better but the sun never broke through and the first light rains at 10.30am had me rushing to get the washing in. Whilst not last long you could feel dampness in the air. Early afternoon more light rains that more than less stayed with us for the rest of the day. Just a few intervals between prolonged showers some a bit heavier than others. The maximum was just 12.5c, the minimum was 8.5c. Late evening whilst still raining there was a hint of a full moon trying to shine through a thinner cloud but like the sun it never became visable. Despite the wet weather, the mildness has prompted the flowers. We can now see even more purple iris especially on the slopes of the olive groves above Sfakera, they are joined by daisy types in purple, white and yellow, some mini marigolds and the tips of bulbs poking through the soil. A night visitor to my garden is eating oranges on the ground, just the insides mainly, i think it is the hedgehog i have seen about previously but not sure.

Another night with a shower in the early hours but we wake to much clearer skies with very high thin clouds and a temperature of 14.1c at 9.30am. It is hazy and Albania is invisible.
Yesterday was a strange day, a shower mid morning was followed near midday by a thunderstorm leaving my garden underwater. Almost as soon as it stopped so the sun started to breakthrough and within 15minutes the temperature had increased by 2c, the rest of the afternoon was lovely and sunny and we maxed at 16.1c. The sea was flat with ripple waves only. A nice if unspectacular sunset preceded a starlit evening. The minimum temperature was 12.0c.

A cloudy night with warm winds meant we had a temperature of 14.5c at 9am. Albania invisible again, clouds very grey and moving quicker than usual. If the sun could get through it would be wonderful.
Yesterday stayed grey most of the day, dark clouds at times on the shoulders of the Pantocrator range but always moving quickly eastwards in the warm winds. Very few glimpses of sun but the maximum reached 17.5c. The sea had small waves as the westerly wind meant the Asteraki headland sheltered the beach at Roda. The evening and night wrre more of the same cloudy but warm, such that it was still 15.3c at midnight. The minimum was 12c.

This morning woken early by the sound of oranges falling onto my spare room roof and then rolling and dropping onto the path in the strong gusty warm winds. Great drying weather and 15c at 9am. High clouds over the sea, still calm as the winds come from south west, sun over Roda but grey clouds inland over the peaks give hint of possible rain.
Yesterdays fine start gave way to a short sharp shower around 10am which cleared to sun then as the warm winds picked so the cloud cover increased. In the sun warm enough to wear just t-shirt but in winds jumper or thin jacket required. Evening was partial cloud, a bright half moon and stars lighting the way to the taverna. The maximum 17.7c and the minimum a very mild 14.1c.

This morning after the thunderstorm in the early hours there is still a lot of surface water, grey clouds are much higher and Albania clearer. The snow is clearing and only remains on the highest of their peaks. It is also much cooler being 11c at 10am. The clouds to the west are dark and threatening but the wind has eased considerably.
Yesterday the warm winds brought in a shower just before 10amthat turned into a thunderstorm with extremely heavy rain. Roads were flooded as were gardens. During the rains the temperature dropped. When the storm passed at 1pm the winds picked up and some gusts were very strong. Rain returned mid afternoon and became heavier as evening arrived. Again there was thunder and lightning. The rest of the evening was damp with passing showers but around midnight it became another thunderstorm with very heavy rains. The maximum temperature of 15.5c was at 11am. The minimum was 14.7c.

Today wake to a fresh air with dampness to it but only few white fluffy clouds out to sea and Sidari way, none over our peaks nor over Albania where the snowy tops shine in the sunshine. At 10am it is 9.9c and was very pleasant in the sun as i ent to the shops in Acharavi.
Yesterday improved as the day progressed and the disappearing clouds left us with a lovely sunny afternoon and a glorious sunset over Roda beach where the sea was flat wjth very small waves. There were clear views of Albania for the first time in a while. As evening came so the moon appeared to be followed by a starlit night, it was however very damp and all cars had heavy condensation o n inside and dew outside, it also felt chilly in the light breeze. The maximum was a nice 15.4c, the minimum 10.2c.

This morning we woke to almost total cloud cover, however they are high, the breeze is light and after intial chill it was a mild 10.4c at 10am. Albania is visable and the clouds high above the peaks which seem to have fresh snow on them.
Yesterday started of with blue skies and sun, however by midday grey clouds had built above Pantocrator range, probably caused by the evaporating dampness from the previous night. Albania had white fluffy clouds hugging the shoulders of the peaks. As the cloud expanded so the sun was blocked and only appeared in breaks in the clouds so the afternoon whilst pleasant never got as glorious as the day promised. It was still nice enough for people to sit outside Alexandros on the beach but they had their jackets done up. The maximum was 15.8c. As nightfall came so the clouds started to break up in smaller clouds making room for the moon to shine and the stars to accompany it in the gaps before temporarily hiding behind a slow moving cloud, it also became chilly but i wasn't cold walking to the taverna in a thin jumper but locals had heavy fleeces or padded jackets on. The minimum temperature was 7.8c.
