There is lots of fresh snowfall on the Albanian peaks and slopes this morning. A leading meteorologist forecasts snow on Pantokrator today, wonder if he will be right!

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here, especially when the sun stops hiding behind the clouds. Generally we have a lovely pale blue sky and white clouds, but there are some dark looking ones to the west of us. The humidity has dropped so Albania, with a fresh fall of snow on its highest peaks is beautiful and clear. There are quite large rollers coming ashore with foamy white peaks to them, but further out it looks calm. The Anek ferry sailed serenely passed on its way to Igoumenitsa as I did my morning check. There is not much wind at the moment, but I did here it during the night. The smoke from the bonfires is drifting westward. It was lovely to be able to get back to having breakfast on the balcony again.
Yesterday was a day of showers, some extremely heavy at times, overflowing the gutters and leaving large puddles behind them. In the breaks there were short spells of it being dry interlaced with drizzle. There was some wind, but not the strong winds that were predicted. The weather system must have stayed a bit to the east of us. At one time we stood and watched a very heavy patch of rain drift down the channel towards Kassiopi. Albania disappeared into heavy murk in the late afternoon, the waves started building up and we were seeing flashes of lightning from some distant storm. Once the heavy rain had passed the visibility got better and we could, once again, see the village lights in Albania. The wind shifted in the late evening to give a very heavy squall battering our north facing windows.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 10th December 2017 was 10.3°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity 65% giving a dew point of 4°C

Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.1°C (real feel 14°C), and the minimum was 10.2°C , the dew point 10°C. The maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 70%.
The reported UV for today is 1-2 ( Range 1- 11+).
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).

Good morning from Roda. It is a cool grey morning here. We had quite a breeze when we woke up but that moderating. There is 100% cloud cover, with the tallest Albanian peaks lost in them. The general visibility isn't bad with Albania and our mountains reasonably clear. The sea is dark grey, uninviting and ruffled. The temperatures are actually quite mild, but without the sun it does feel chilly. We are due to have a fairly grey showery week with the occasional sunny day.
Yesterday was mostly sunny with a few cloudy spells. The clouds never really went away, but we had plenty of sunshine. The long high rollers of the morning gradually eased during the day, but were still sending waves ashore in the evening. There was a passable sunset, leading into clear dark night with the heaven strewn with a multitude of stars. Again, because the humidity dropped the visibility was great and the lights of the Albanian villages shone across the channel. Here is a photo I took in the car park a few days ago. There has been more water there than this, but it drains away in a few days, mostly.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 11th December 2017 was 12.3°C, real feel 11°C, and the humidity 61% giving a dew point of 4°C
The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 13.1°C
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.1°C (real feel 13°C), and the minimum was 6.6°C , the dew point 8°C. The maximum humidity was 71% and the minimum 58%.

Good morning from Roda. It started off quite grey and damp this morning, with complete cloud cover and the ground wet from overnight rain. As the morning progresses the clouds are breaking up in places and letting the sunshine through. It was quite breezy first thing but that seems to be easing. The clouds low are still low, with the tops of our hills covered and banks of clouds being stuck on the Albanian peaks. The sea is mildly ruffled and a grey/green in colour. There was a ferry gliding down the channel when we drew the curtains, resplendent in its white livery against the steel grey of the mountains. Mind you it was probably running late as most ferries are due into Igoumenitsa around 6am. It looked like a Minoan ferry as those of the Anek line have a very distinctive yellow funnel.
Yesterday was a cool and cloudy day with very intermittent spells of light drizzle. All saying that it was a very strange day in that the wind kept strengthening and then dying away. One moment you were almost blown off your feet and then a couple of hours later no wind at all. The sea reacted likewise one moment the waves and white horses were building only for them to die away and for the sea to become almost flat calm. The strong wind shifted some of the clouds to give us a glimpse of the sun, however there were menacing looking dark clouds towards Kassiopi. Then they too melted away to be replaced by a generalised light grey, but complete, covering of clouds. The evening was mild, with only a light breeze and only small rolling waves coming ashore. Again, the evening visibility was good and we could see the twinkling lights of Albania. The temperature started to rise during the evening giving us the highest temperatures of the day. I find it hard to believe that three years ago on this day I was swimming of Almyros beach! Too chilly to contemplate that now. This time last year our last swim was in mid- November.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 12th December 2017 was 14.6°C, real feel 15°C, and the humidity 77% giving a dew point of 11°C

Good morning from Roda. It is not a bad start to the day here. We have lots of sunshine but also quite a lot of clouds. The breeze is gentle and quite warm and the sea is calm and I can't hear any waves. The visibility isn't that great, but we can still see Albania across the channel with a big cap of clouds on its mountains. Here we too have a cap of clouds over the hills behind us. It was pleasant enough to enjoy breakfast on the balcony, and the windows and doors of the flat are wide open to let the warmth and fresh air in.
Yesterday started off cloudy but dry. Too cool to have breakfast outside but perfect for a walk into Acharavi along the sea front. There was a short lived spell of light drizzle around mid-day in Acharavi, but all dried up for our walk back. The afternoon just kept getting better with the sun breaking through to give long sunny spells. The wind remained gentle all day, so the waves just continued coming ashore with their long rollers. Some of those waves must get to several hundred metres in length. We missed the sunset, but in mitigation, even if we are indoors if it is a great sunset we become aware of it. So it must have just been a bit of a damp squib. The evening stayed mild, but with clouds, though you could see many clouds in the breaks. The temperature at midnight was a balmy 15°C! Here are a couple of photos i took yesterday afternoon. One beside the stream looking towards Makis apartments, the other of 'Danny's' farm. There are many animals now in this small holding, and they were busy picking the olives last week and doing the pruning. Lots of geese, ducks, hens and now sheep are there as well as the rabbits. Judging by the number of plastic bags shoved into the wire fencing they are still getting well fed! There were quite a lot of fish in the stream as well, though they are unable to ge to the sea at the moment.

Good morning from Roda. Or rather good afternoon as it is here. Apologies for the late report but another trip to Corfu town had to be done. It was a beautiful start to the day with the pink tinges of dawn lighting up the clouds. The sun rises sooner to the south of Troumpeta, as it has to get passed the mountains to reach the north. There was a residual mist lurking in the valleys to add to the picture. The Diapontian Islands were basking in a sea of deep blue as we climbed Troumpeta. The morning has continued as one of sunshine and clouds, and I am trying to get a load through the washing machine and out in time to dry before nightfall. As we came back from town we could see that most of the snow has gone from the slopes of the Albanian mountains except on the highest of peaks. However once back in Roda, with a different angle we could see more snow on the eastern slopes. The sea is lovely and calm, as is the wind, so we enjoyed our second cup of tea of the day in the sun on the balcony. It was warm enough to put the parasol up. The warmth has also seen lizards and terrapins emerging, and even carpenter bees bumbling around.
Yesterday continued to be a day of sunshine and clouds. When the sun was out it was very pleasant indeed. In fact I did put my feet in the sea to check on temperature. I think that if I had had a towel with my I might, just might, have gone for a swim. The wind stayed kind all day which meant that so did the sea. Though there were small rollers hitting the shore hard along the sea front in Roda. The clouds did increase towards evening, but we could still see one or two stars, but no chance of seeing the meteor shower of the Geminids. Visibility was still quite good though, I am sure there are more lights over in Albania than even last year. The warmth of the day encouraged a lonely cicada to start singing in the village at night.

Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for the late report but got very busy in the kitchen cooking leek and potato soup, and tonight's meal of beef in red wine in the slow cooker. This morning had a grey drizzly start to the day. There were a few blue patches that the sun managed to find occasionally, but mostly it was solid clouds. Albania had all but disappeared on the horizon, with a heavy bank of clouds propped up on its peaks. The sea was calm though as most of the wind is coming from the south. That wind was quite gusty at times scattering the last few remaining leaves on the trees. There are so many little birds in the garden at the moment they also look like leaves blowing in the wind with their quick darting flight. The dredger is back this morning.
Yesterday was glorious all day. We managed a late breakfast and our lunch sat on the balcony. I almost got a wash dried, but decided to leave it out over night and it got drizzled on sometime in the early morning. There were quite a significant amount of clouds around which gave a beautiful sunset. The evening itself was dry with the winds still very calm as was the sea.

Good morning from Roda. It is a mild but grey morning here. There is a bit of spits and spots of drizzle in the fresh breeze. The wind at times is whistling round the flat. Albania has lost itself in a heavy bank of clouds across the still fairly calm sea. Our mountains are also capped with clouds and very hazy. The greyness and the wind make it feel a lot colder than the 17°C the thermometer is reading. Rain is forecast for this afternoon and evening and tomorrow to a lesser extent, then we are due to get almost a week of sunshine.
Yesterday was mostly a grey and drizzly day. There were quite long gaps when it was dry, so we managed our walks around Acharavi and into the village whilst staying dry. The wind freshened as the day progressed, with more showers in the late evening. The air was quite clear and the lights of Albania were just about visible across the calm sea. Even though the sea was calm floppy waves were making their presence felt on the shore line. They seem to make more noise than their size would suggest! There seemed to be fewer lights towards Almyros, so we were thinking there may have been a partial power cut over there.

Good morning from Roda. After early morning heavy rain showers the grey skies started to clear and we had sunshine on the flanks of some of the Albanian mountains. The sky did start to clear from the north and east and we also had a few moments of sunshine, but it is a breezy day so the clouds are returning. The mountain tops of our and the Albania mountains are poking into the clouds which are also travelling down some of the valleys. The deep green sea is very noisy today with waves crashing on the shoreline. There were white horses out to sea first thing, but they are dying away. It is a much cooler day today than yesterday, and the forecast is for next week to be cooler but with plenty of sunshine. Signs of the approaching Christmas season are starting to appear in the village. I will take some photos today and put them on later.
Yesterday was a day of very heavy downpours with light drizzly rain in the breaks. At times the wind with the heavy rain was very strong, pushing open the door of Ilo and ripping the Christmas decorations off the glass at Pirates. The sea was a masterpiece in shades of blues and greens, with a topping of creamy white horses reaching far out to sea. Not sure if the ferries were running as a trip to IKEA was cancelled due to the weather. We did manage to mostly stay dry, though I should have worn my wellies for the evening walk into the village.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 17th December 2017 was 12.8°C, real feel 12°C, and the humidity 78% giving a dew point of 9°C

Good afternoon from Roda. Sorry for the very late report but we had to be in town today. Unfortunately it was a partly wasted journey and we will have another two visits this week! It was a very grey start to today, with a spot of drizzle. There were lowering clouds over Albania, with some buried in the valleys. The clouds must have been a bit too high to have capped ours. There was a fresh sprinkling of snow over the Albanian peaks. The sea was a peculiar shade of green and was topped by white horses, with big waves coming ashore. It did look a bit brighter to the south, but that maybe just the sun rising. The wind was gentle, the temperature cold.
Yesterday, after the early morning showers, turned out to quite a lovely day. The skies cleared and the sun made an appearance in the early afternoon. With the clearing skies came a clearing of the haze and we had a sparklingly clear afternoon. The sunset was pretty, with a lovely golden light prior to the pinks of the sunset itself. There was an Anek ferry (the Asterion) sailing up the far side of the channel bathed in bright light from the setting sun. The evening was still cool but clear and star lit, so the sudden lightning and thunder in the late evening was a complete surprise. There seemed to be no rain then, but we did get some over night.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 18th December 2017 was 11.0°C, real feel 12°C, and the humidity 73% giving a dew point of 7°C
The maximum temperature this day in 2016 was 10.6°C

There has been some unusual weather moments the last few days, as Jan mentioned the night was clear, starlit overhead and over our mountains whilst at sea we could see lightening over Albania and westwards and hear rumbling thunder. That storm hit us an hour or so later.
Last night it looked like winds had dropped and it would be calm, then out of blue a hailstorm. Stones hitting roof like bullets and dogs hid under duvet!
This morning a large grey bank of cloud passed over Albanian peaks, underneath the rising sun was shining on the snow. Look beautiful. It has now cleared away.
It time to keep camera at ready as there are some good pictures to be had.

Good morning from Roda. The spell of good weather has arrived. We awoke to clear blue skies with a few pretty white clouds dotted about. The clarity across to Albania is amazing. The overnight showers we had have resulted in another sprinkling of snow on the mountains over there. The sea is a deep blue and slightly ruffled due to the breeze we have at the moment. It is chilly in the shade, but we enjoyed breakfast on the balcony with the temperature in the sun a comfortable 23°C. OK it is a chilly 9°C in the shade. Our hills are slightly hazy, probably due to a few bonfires being lit. There is a lot of activity in the olive groves at the moment and this involves pruning the trees and burning any unusable vegetation.
Yesterday started off cloudy with a hint of brightness. However we did get a spell of drizzle in the late morning which made the paths in Corfu town a bit slippery. It didn't last long and the skies cleared and the sun shone. The sea was so choppy with the stiff breeze that was blowing. It was even very choppy in the port at Corfu. It looked beautiful with a deep blue/ green choppy sea against the green of the mountains and the blue of the sky. It was a lovely drive back, avoiding the many potholes, with the islands so clear as we came over Troumpeta. We had a dry but cloudy and cold evening as we walked into the village. The lights of Albania were clear, showing even the roads winding up the valleys.

Good afternoon from Roda. Apologies for the late report, we an unavoidable trip into Corfu Town. What a shock we had this morning, we had a white out. There was a heavy frost everywhere, even the puddles down the lane had a skim of ice. We actually had to de-ice the camper for our trip into town! Fortunately once the sun came up the frost rapidly disappeared to give us a beautiful sunny day. There were barely any clouds in the sky, the breeze was non-existent and the sea calm and blue. The very low humidity meant that Albania seemed close enough to touch. Coming over the top of Troumpeta the Ropa valley was veiled in a low level mist, adding a very picturesque touch. However the sun didn't heat the day up very much. These photos were taken around the flat just after dawn this morning. Our neighbour's washing would have been very stiff indeed.
Yesterday stayed cool but sunny all day, with a slight breeze and great visibility. There were very few clouds so the sunset was mediocre to say the least. The evening was cold and starlit with more than a hint of the dropping temperatures.
The temperature at 8.30 am on Wednesday 20th December 2017 was 1.6°C, real feel 1°C, and the humidity 62% giving a dew point of -4°C
