November 1st, i went down into Roda early evening to see what was open, Tropicana, Drossia, Oscars, Dolphin inside only, Pirates, Alexandros, Sandy's (live music).
A few places shut but will be open again after a short break to rest after the long hours of the season. Pixida to open in about 10 days. Grill room and Nemo expected to open. Drunken Sailor to open on dart and pool nights which are probably going to be midweek this winter.
It should also be noted not all places will be open everyday so see boards or check with staff, e.g. Sandy's plan to open Friday, Saturday and Sunday only but may open in week if a music night or darts if a demand.

We got back late yesterday afternoon after a very stormy and rough crossing from Italy. As soon as a good cup of tea was had we set off round the village. It was so quiet like Dave has said, though Oscars, Tropicana, Nemos and Alexandros in the Village were open, also the grill room and Drossia. We sampled the usual very good chicken, salad and chips from the grill room. which was quiet but picked up quite a bit later on. Pirates was closed for 10 days due to the noise police. It was pay a fine or close for 10 days. They chose the later and are using the opportunity to do some decorating. They re-open Thursday. Oscars had been done as well previously and recently re-opened doing their fish and chip nights on Friday. Smiley's is staying open all winter with log fires on each floor. They are doing food as a take away and are also doing a curry night as well. That should be good as the chef has spent a long time in India. We will be trying it out. The Express supermarket was open and is trying to stay open all winter, Panayiotis (Alpha) was open as was the photographic shop, and of course the paper shop is always open and Tachis (? spelling) on the main road. The most noticable thing was the large blue bottle banks that have appeared in the village. We counted at least 3 on our walk. When we have got settled in a bit more we will have a better explore and report back.
