Although we have now been to Roda five times before, we have always tolerated the coach drop off journey from the airport! This year we have ordered a cab from Roda Taxis. However I am concerned that we don't exactly travel light and, as 4 adults, will all our luggage fit?! Thank you for any help on this!

Hi shushopper, we wouldn't get to Roda any other way than taxi (or hire car). There are 4 of us (adults) with 4 cases plus hand luggage and they always manage to fit us in so don't worry. I don't think you will go back to coach transfers once you experience the ease and speed of your taxi transfer.

If, like me, you are hand luggage only, you can be away from the airport and in Roda before the coaches have left the airport. Even if you wait for suitcases it is so much quicker. My last (and worst) transfer took over 31/2 hours from leaving the airport, getting us into the resort after all the restaurants had shut, not the best start to a holiday.Don't worry about the suitcases many of the taxis are Skoda Octavias which have huge boots, supplemented with an in depth knowledge of the use of bungees/ spider straps. Now then some months ago I offered the free drink to the fastest transfer time from airport to Roda crossroads. Its timeto state date and time now to see whose winning so far. This was all about coach transfer times v taxi or car transfer times. Just a bit fun so any quick times!

Does the timing start from when we land, or when we physically get into our transport- . We're due to land at 21.20 on Wednesday. If air traffic control aren't on strike, the baggage carousels don't break down, and Alex from Dromeas is on time with our hire car, we're hoping to be in Roda by 2300.....

Righto. Best not go the mountain route in the dark then, or we may not get to Roda for a very long time. Coast road it is. Fortunately it won't be me driving:)

The fastest time I every heard of was 19 minutes, Dave - middle of the night, trying not to miss the flight, no red lights (allegedly!). It was a taxi driver known to many, but he’s not here this year.

Our taxi ride was just short of 40 mins - a massive relief after a 7 hour delay to our flight.

Corfu town/Garitsa was busy otherwise we'd have been quicker. We took off 30 mins late but must have had a tailwind because we landed on time, Exactly 3 hours from Manchester.
