Our first FGT of the season at Pirates, the following one at Theodorus only had Steve and myself at it as we were due no forum members that week. I apologise for being late in putting it on, but I have just got my laptop back from Data Expert. It is sadly the last photo we have of Jimmy sitting at the back with Maureen his wife. The couple at the front are DavyH and Cheryl (hope I have spelt this right). I decided to put the photo on so people might remember his face but maybe not his name. Again our many condolences go to Maureen from everyone on this forum. We will always have fond memories of a gentle man who loved Roda, frequently to be found with Maureen in the early evening at Newport Taverna as he was friends with the family.

It was a lovely morning for this week's FGT at Alexandros in the village. It is still a bit too soon for most of our regular visitors, but Cathy and her husband Brian joined us together with Linda and Dave. We spent a very happy hour catching up with news. Poor Cathy had her back to the sun and was having to protect her shoulders. Our next meeting is at Alexandros Apartments. It will give us a chance to look at Kostas' new villa for hire. Last time we saw it there was no pool or garden.

The weekly get together was at Alexandros Apartments. We had a very enjoyable time catching up with Nellie and Kieran from The Campsies (north of Glasgow) and Chris and the new look Liz on the first of their twice a year visits to Roda. Nellie and Kieran have been to Roda many times in the past and are staying at Maras' Apartments. They are new to the forum and we were delighted to meet them in the flesh. We had a long discussion over the many changes in Roda over that time. Chris and Liz are very frequent visitors and need no introduction. Liz looked amazing as she has a new trim figure but was camera shy.

We want to go to all of them when we are there ha - how long do they normally last?. As the first one is in Yummies it will be hard not to munch on the foot long village sausage baguette ha even though we would have had breakfast an hour previously.

This week's FGT was at Nemo's Cafe/ Bar. For those not sure where it is, it is just before the bus stop opposite the Afrodite Hotel. Nemo's is run by two young sisters and a brother (Eleni, Eliza and Stephanos). They have just made a car park along side for the use of their patrons. They have a great shaded patio under the spreading branches of a large tree, a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. They do a range of snacks and meals as well. The main interest for families with young children to let off steam is that they have a great indoor soft play area for children, my grandkids enjoyed going there every day when they were here on their holidays. Best of all it is free, just buy something to drink and the kids entertain themselves. Though they also have ice cream and popcorn for the children. We had a very enjoyable meeting with Pete, Debbie and Jan (Kaz). There were discussions on gardening, hairdressers and the need for a village car park ( we saw many vehicles turning away because they couldn't park). It was very pleasant chatting with friends in the shade of that marvelous tree watching a pair of house martins feeding their minuscule chicks (sorry about poor photo- you can just see the beak to the left of the parent bird).

Thank you Nellie, it was good to meet you and your son Kieran. However I think Debbie might say something if I am going to meetings with her husband Pete lol . Good job my partner, Steve, can see the funny side. Steve has a long white pony tail whereas, being kind, Pete is devoid of any! However it is an easy mistake to make. We look forward to your future visits to our lovely Roda, don't be away too long.

Its a little unfair to say Pete is devoid of any hair - he simply chooses to keep it short and tidy.
