Good morning from Roda. It is another beautiful morning here. We have blue skies, no clouds, no wind, calm blue seas and OK visibility. Albania is reasonably clear for the time of year, but we are still very hazy. It is gorgeous in the sun, a thermometer in the sun on our table on the south facing balcony read 36°C, whilst the shade temperature was only 10°C! So we are not martyrs having our breakfast on the balcony in such cool shade temperatures. Once we get to around 10am it is generally a nice temperature, or, like today, a bit on the warm side. You would not expect these temperature if you went to the beach though.
Yesterday stayed cloud free all day. There was a very slight breeze but the waves had got up into those long rollers sweeping in from the channel, not great for swimming at this time of year. We will have to wait for more favourable conditions. As usual once it got to 4.30pm it became way too cold to continue to sit on the balcony and we were chased inside. There was a glorious sunset leading into a moonlit, starlit but cold night.
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 11th December 2016 was 8.9°C, real feel 9.0°C, and the humidity 76%. Giving a dew point of 5°C.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.0°C (real feel 13°C) and the minimum was 6.4°C , the dew point 8°C.
The maximum humidity was 76% and the minimum 69%.
Sorry I have no data for this time last year.
The reported UV for today is 2 ( Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice.

Good morning from Roda. It is NOT a good morning this morning. We have complete cloud cover, with those over Albania looking menacing, not much rain is forecast for the day, but there is a warning for thunderstorms. In fact Albania is almost hidden by the gloom that goes all the way to the sea. The sea colour is varying from silver to the west to blue/black to the east. We are very hazy as well, with a lack of wind and a general chill to the air.
Yesterday started off lovely, but the clouds increased during the day giving us an afternoon of sunshine and clouds. The sunset was gorgeous because of the number of clouds and we progressed into a calm evening with moonlight and stars showing in the gaps between the clouds. The sea still has these long rollers coming ashore, but the water level is quite low so we have quite a beach from Nino's to The Boathouse. How much will be there at the end of winter is anyone's guess!
The temperature at 10am on Monday 12th December 2016 was 10.7°C, real feel 11.0°C, and the humidity 80%. Giving a dew point of 8°C.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.1°C (real feel 13°C) and the minimum was 6.2°C , the dew point 9°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is absolutely gorgeous here today. We have wall to wall blue skies with just one white fluffy cloud to spoil it. There is no wind and the humidity has dropped so we have great air clarity all round. There is even very little in the way of bonfires to mar it. If anything it was almost too hot for a late breakfast on the balcony. We had quite a strong northerly wind during the night that must have blown the clouds away and cleared that high humidity we have had. There is fresh snow on some of the Albanian peaks. I would feel a swim coming on but the waves sound too much for us.
Yesterday was one of those days that felt cold all day even though the temperature wasn't that low. It stayed cloudy all day, brightening a bit occasionally, with the even rarely clear spot that let a stray sunbeam through. There was a breeze that sprang up late afternoon, but died away in the evening when we we surprised by quite a downpour! We were caught out, in the village with no umbrella!
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 13th December 2016 was 12.3°C, real feel 11.0°C, and the humidity 56%. Giving a dew point of 4°C.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 12.5°C (real feel 13°C) and the minimum was 8.2°C , the dew point 10°C.
The maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum 77%.

Good morning from Roda. It is a gorgeous morning here, but a bit on the cool side. We have blue skies, a few streaky clouds. sunshine and an almost breeze. Though the shade temperature is decidedly Baltic, in the sun and out of the breeze it is very pleasant with my thermometer in the sun reading around 25°C, with the shade temperature 8°C! The night turned really cold with the temperature just before midnight reading 7.0°C when the pre-dawn temperature on Tuesday had been a balmy 11.2°C. The humidity was dropping like a stone and we ended up with a pre-dawn temperature of 3.4°C! The air clarity is such that Albania has moved to just off shore, but our hills are affected by the smoky bonfires. The sea has calmed from yesterday but we can still hear the waves.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, with lots of sunshine, and a freshening breeze. By late afternoon the rollers were piling in and we had white horses for as far as the eye could see. It all looked very spectacular with the blue/ green sea, the Anek ferry gliding majestically in front of a sharply focused Albania. The breeze had stiffened to a strong wind and it was decidedly bracing walking into the village. Never were we so pleased about the roaring fire at Smileys. The wind had died down a lot by the time we walked back, but by then the temperatures were plummeting.
The temperature at 10am on Wednesday 14th December 2016 was 6.6°C, real feel 7.0°C, and the humidity 55%. Giving a dew point of -1°C (this is a first for me, it just means that there isn't much moisture in the air, hence the amazing clarity we have at the moment)
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.0°C (real feel 14°C) and the minimum was 7.0°C , the dew point 6°C.
The maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum 50%.

Good morning from Roda. It is yet another glorious morning here, though a mite chilly in the shade. We have a lovely blue sky with some high streaky clouds over Albania and some small white fluffy ones caught over our mountain tops. There is a gentle breeze and a flat calm sea. Albania has a fresh dusting of snow on some of the near peaks. We wait until the sun fills the balcony for our breakfast, then we can enjoy temperatures in the mid-twenties (with the shade at 10°C!).
Yesterday was lovely all day. The day continued calm with little in the way of wind and the sea continuing to settle to give us a flat calm by the evening. The clouds did build up during the afternoon, but not enough to affect the sunshine levels. During the evening it was a delight to walk to and from the village, well wrapped up, but enjoying the lack of wind and the full moon playing tag with the clouds.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 15th December 2016 was 8.3°C, real feel 8.0°C, and the humidity 69%. Giving a dew point of 3°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is a cold and cloudy morning so far, We do have some breaks in the clouds, so we will probably see the sun at some point (hopefully). There is quite a breeze so we have a very ruffled dark blue sea with the waves running east to west. Albania is nice and clear across the channel with what appears to be sunshine bathing the mountain sides. We are quite hazy, not all attributable to the bonfires.
Yesterday was lovely all day, even though we did have an increase in the cloud cover. In fact Acharavi had a drop of rain yesterday afternoon, which we didn't get. Breakfast and a late lunch were both eaten on the balcony with the sunshine temperatures reaching the mid to high 20's! It got very misty towards Albania in the late afternoon, with the country hiding pretty much behind this cloud effect. However that all cleared as the mist/ clouds lifted to give the amazing but unusual sunset. There were all sorts of cloud formations, which unfortunately my photos don't show at all, swirling, streaky patterns all awash with the pink of the sunset. All the mountain sides and the sea turned this amazing pink colour. The sky to the south of us was completely different, a lovely clear blue dotted with white fluffy clouds. A sky of two halves. At the same time the temperature started rising and we were up to 13°C by 9pm, then the humidity level fell and with it the temperature. We were back to 8°C by 11pm. So it was a very pleasant mild evening for our walk into the village, with the almost full moon washing the many in-coming waves across the bay silver.
The temperature at 10am on Friday 16th December 2016 was 8.6°C, real feel 9.0°C, and the humidity 59%. Giving a dew point of 2°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is a gorgeous morning here. We have endless blue skies with only the very occasional cloud in the distance. However there is quite a strong breeze at times which made it slightly chilly sitting on the balcony for breakfast. The humidity is very low which is giving us a crystal clear view across the dark blue ruffled sea to Albania. We, however, are hazy with the ever present bonfires around the hills. Everybody we know who have olives are busy in their groves gathering in their fruit and pruning the trees for their own fires and for selling to Italy. All the small bits just get burnt in situ. Although the sea looks calmer I think it is way too chilly in that breeze to contemplate a swim. Our aim now is a swim on Christmas Day.
Yesterday was a day of sunny intervals, with some quite long cloudy spells. Again it was one of those days here when it seemed difficult to keep warm. We just about managed lunch on the balcony. Coffee was had in the warmest sunshiny spot in the cafe. Though we did have a run up to Karousades to go to the post office and the weather was glorious then, with the views as we parked up amazing. We then went into Sidari to do a bit of shopping and coming back the island was showing itself at its best. Albania was so clear across the channel you could almost see the windows in the house in Saranda. The sunset came and went and was no great shakes but the clouds were starting to clear as we walked into the village. However on the way back the wind had sprung up and it was bracing to be very polite about it. It did have the advantage of clearing those clouds away to give us a lovely starlit sky and the lights of Albania twinkling across the water.
The temperature at 10am on Saturday 17th December 2016 was 8.7°C, real feel 9.0°C, and the humidity 45% giving a dew point of -2°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was very frosty here this morning, which is clearing fast as the sun hits it. We have clear cloudless skies, hardly any wind and great air clarity. The sea is blue and calm. Despite the frost, in the sun on the balcony the thermometer read 22°C. So we enjoyed our breakfast out there in comfort watching the frost melt. Such is the paradox that is Corfu. It is much cooler here in the north and even cooler up the mountains, but Arillas and Kavos are 6°C warmer than us.
Yesterday stayed bright and sunny all day, but even in the sun it was cool with our trusty balcony thermometer only getting up to 15°C as we had our soup for lunch out there. The sea remained calm and the air clarity good as we sailed through a lovely sunset into a cold but starlit night. The temperature was dropping quickly through the evening ending at midnight around 4°C, ending up at dawn this morning at 2.8°C.
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 18th December 2016 was 5.8°C, real feel 6.0°C, and the humidity 60% giving a dew point of -1°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here. We did have a frosty start but that melted quickly in the warm sunshine. We have bright blue cloudless skies, barely any breeze and great air clarity towards Albania. Our hills and mountains are decidedly hazy though. We have a calm deep blue ruffled sea. We had our breakfast as usual in the sun on the balcony and stayed to enjoy the 30°C in full sun. The shade was a very chilly 9°C!
Yesterday stayed lovely again all day, warm in the sun but only reaching about 22°C, cool in the shade. A few people were out and about on the beach enjoying the sun, and having a chat amongst friends outside Alexandros. There was little in the way of a breeze and we slipped via a pretty sunset into a very cold starlit night. It remained very clear though with the lights of Albania and our hillside villages twinkling in the dark. The sea was calm, but giving up those 'floppy' sort of waves that delight in washing lots of sea grass ashore.

Good morning from Roda. It is calm still, bright but very cloudy morning here in Corfu. Albania is nice and clear across the flat calm sea, whilst we still have our haziness, though not as hazy as it has been.
Yesterday stayed beautiful all day, clear blue skies and a calm sea. We had a nice walk at Almyros, but it was just a tad too cold for a swim. There were some thin high clouds building up around the end of the afternoon which gave a pastel sunset. The night was black and starlit, with no breeze and the sea still flat calm.
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 20th December 2016 was 6.5°C, real feel 7.0°C, and the humidity 69% giving a dew point of 1°C.

Good morning from Roda. It is gorgeous here this morning. We have a cloudless blue sky, bright sun, a gentle but cool breeze and a blue sea. The sea looks calm but I awoke to the sound of the waves coming ashore. Albania is nice and clear across the channel and we have our usual haziness. Despite the chill of the shade temperatures we enjoyed breakfast in the sun on the balcony, with the temperature in the sun a pleasant 25°C. Yesterday stayed cloudy all day, though we did have some quite bright spells. We went into Corfu town to do a bit of shopping and coming down from Trompeta, the view was so lovely. The Ropa valley was wreathed in mist, so the trees seemed to float on a sea of clouds. The sea towards Albania and Albania itself were a study in tones of grey. It was stunningly beautiful. It was a few degrees warmer at 15°C than our maximum, but coming down from Trompeta the temperature dropped markedly. The grey day slipped into a cold night with the clouds clearing rapidly, so our walk back from the village was under a canopy of millions of bright stars and the twinkling of the Albanian village lights across the flat calm sea, and our villages trying to outdo. Episkepsi always looks so pretty at night on its ridge with its many coloured lights.

Good morning from Roda. It is yet another sunny day here. We have blue skies with some thin streaky high clouds, not thick enough to interfere with the sun. There is a slight cool breeze. The sea is blue and ruffled but the waves are calmer, couldn't hear them this morning. Albania remains quite clear across that sea, and our backdrop stays hazy. It was still very pleasant having breakfast on the balcony (22°C in full sun).
Yesterday was lovely all day, wall to wall sunshine with a few clouds in the late afternoon, but not developing into much. There was the ubiquitous lovely sunset leading into yet another clear, dark starlit night. It is always such a pleasure walking back on a night. I always try and spot the Milky Way but not successful very often. We seem to be the only people on foot and generally no cars pass us then, so it feels like the view is solely there for our delight.

Good morning from Roda. We have another great day in prospect. We have clear blue skies, literally one or two white fluffy things, and warm sunshine. Well it is warm in the sun but very cold in the shade. The different air density layers are preventing the smoke from rising straight up and it is getting caught at a low level giving a very interesting effect.
Yesterday was nice all day. Again warm in the sun but cool, even bitter, in the shade. The sea is calming down a bit but we still have those long lazy rollers coming ashore. The day got a bit more hazier as it progressed, meaning that Albania was not so clear on our walk back from the village. We had a lovely sunset to end the day, when again we could eat both breakfast and lunch outside.

Good morning from Roda. I know it is getting boring, but we have another lovely morning here. There is a cloudless blue sky, a gentle southerly breeze, and a nice warmth in the sun. The sea is blue and calm looking, though we can hear the waves coming ashore. Albania remains lovely and clear across the channel, whilst our backdrop is hazy as usual. The morning chill keeps the smoke from the bonfires low until the sun warms things up a bit and it can head skyward.
Yesterday stayed gorgeous all day. We enjoyed coffee in our favourite cafe with the doors and windows wide open. Not warm enough really though to be thinking about swimming. It is very chilly in the shade and once four o'clock comes round we head indoors. We had a glorious sunset followed by another dark starlit night. The breeze had died down and the rollers were just gently kissing the shore.

Merry Christmas from Roda, I am wishing you all have a wonderful day and a happy and healthy 2017.
Christmas morning started with a slight frost that soon burnt off. We had blue skies and a weak sun shield by high cloud. The sun did get stronger and we enjoyed our Christmas breakfast on the balcony. Now however the clouds are getting thicker, let's hope they don't hide the sun completely as we are going for a walk round the village and a coffee at Tropicana before returning for our Christmas turkey. The sea looks calm but the waves are quite noisy. We are still hazy even though the fires have decided for the day. Albania is not quite as clear as it has been. All in all it is not a bad start to Christmas.
Yesterday was lovely all day as we basked in the continued good weather. At one point, in direct sun, our thermometer on the south balcony got to 40°C! I got two loads of washing out and dried. We did see increasing cloud during the day which gave us a spectacular sunset with even the sea getting in on the act. The breeze did freshen for a bit, but died down in the evening. We had the usual amazing show of stars.
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 25th December 2016 was 8.0°C, real feel 8.0°C, and the humidity 74% giving a dew point of 4°C.
