Good morning from Roda. We awoke yesterday to the sight of a mist shrouded Corfu on the horizon as our ferry sailed towards Igounimitsa. As the sun gathered strength the mist evaporated and there was the north coast of Corfu gleaming in the distance. Sidari, Roda and Acharavi all shining white in the sun, a truly wonderful sight against the green background of our beloved hills and mountains. Sailing into Corfu, via Igouminitsa on a warm sunny day takes a bit of beating. It was even better on the little ferry from Igounimitsa to Corfu. It was warm enough to sit on the top deck in the sunshine and watch as we approached the old town. The reading in the camper as we disembarked showed a very pleasant 22°C. We were back. The journey north to Roda was a delight as the massed blossom of the Judas trees and the fruit trees together with the bright yellow of the gorse was delightful. We were spotting wild orchids and sage bushes in flower amongst the verdant grasses, what a welcome!
A brief resume of yesterday's weather. It stayed bright and sunny all day with barely a wind and was still 17°C at 9pm as we wandered back from our meal at the grill room.
The maximum temperature was 19.9°C and the minimum was 12.8°C The maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum was 51% The UV was 6 (Range 1- 11) So take care in that sun, it may be mid April but it will still burn!
Today we awoke to a misty start but as the sun rose higher that mist burnt off and it looks like it is going to be a glorious day. Albania is not that visible across the channel, and we can only get a hint of the snow that still lies on the highest peaks (we saw more of that as we descended from Trompeta). Our hills and mountains are still hazy and there is not enough wind to clear them. The sea today, like yesterday, is like a mill pond and we may dip our toes in it later as we were assured by Stephanos that once in it is lovely! To cap our arrival we sat eating breakfast on the balcony and Hermy flew onto the electricity pole as if to welcome us back.
The readings at 10am on 13th April 2016 are: Temperature 16.8°C and humidity 71% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 19.9°C and the minimum was 12.8°C The maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum 51% The reported UV for today is 6 ( Range 1- 11). For those of you lucky enough to be on holiday take care and apply that sunscreen.

Good afternoon from Roda. We had another welcome home present this morning in the form of a power cut, which prevented me from doing my weather report this morning.
I will inform new, and remind regular readers, that I take my data from a sensor which is place in the shade on my north balcony. It is protected from wind and the late afternoon sun as much as we can. The readings I get are generally a little lower than those reported on the internet as we are so close to the sea it is naturally a bit cooler here. I check my readings against other thermometers I have to ensure that they are not going adrift, and also against other weather reporters around the northern half of Corfu. Corfu, being so mountainous, has lots of micro- climates where the weather and the temperatures can vary between places quite close to each other. So what I report is what is happening on this side of Roda. Yes, it has been known to be dry here, and Roda village has had a shower even though we are only a few hundred yards away.
This morning we awoke to a grey sky and it was very hazy as Albania was conspicuous by her absence, and our hills and mountains were very milky in appearance. There was little or no wind, but it was very mild, even warm. As the morning progressed the sun started to make itself felt, and by time we were eating breakfast we were in the sunshine.
Yesterday turned out to be lovely and sunny and very pleasantly warm. Warm enough for a quick dip or two in the sea! It stayed nice into the evening which stayed clear but mild with a late evening temperature in the mid teens.
The readings at 10am on Thursday 14th April 2016 are:-
Temperature 21.1°C and humidity 55% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.6°C and the minimum was 11.3°C The maximum humidity was 71% and the minimum 64%
The reported UV for today is 6 ( Range 1- 11). For those of you lucky enough to be on holiday take care and apply that sunscreen.

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We awoke to blue skies and sunshine in abundance, there was the occasional fluffy white cloud on the horizon, but basically wall to wall blue. Again there is little in the way of a breeze, and Albania has emerged fairly clear from the haze of yesterday. Our mountains are not so lucky, in that there is still some haze aggravated by the final bonfires of the season (not allowed after May 1st.) Yesterday was glorious after the morning haziness had burnt off we were treated to what must have been one of the warmest days of the year so far, 25°C! A trip to the beach and a cool off in the sea (OK it does need to get a bit warmer) but it had to be done. It stayed hot and sunny for the rest of the day, leading into a mild and clear evening (it was still 20°C at 10pm.) The early warmth has brought out the fireflies in the fields around us. So pretty to see.
The readings at 10am on Friday 15th April 2016 are:-
Temperature 17.8°C and humidity 70% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.9°C and the minimum was 15.8°C The maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 49%
The reported UV for today is 7 ( Range 1- 11+). For those of you lucky enough to be on holiday (or stay here) take care and apply that sunscreen. That UV is getting higher. UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).

Nice to have the weather reports back janiemou. Love reading them and it all adds to the excitement of counting down until we are back in Roda in June. We are off to Crete a week tomorrow - our first trip there - and believe they are enjoying exceptionally good weather too

Good morning from Roda. We awoke to clear blue skies, an absence of clouds and the gentlest of breezes. Albania was standing clear and proud across the calm blue sea, whilst our hills and mountains are still slightly hazy. It is going to be another lovely day I feel. Yesterday stayed clear and sunny with the sky an amazing blue colour, cloudless and almost the colour of periwinkles. There was quite a breeze at times that kept the shade temperature down, but in the sun it was so hot. Hard to believe that it is only mid April. The wind died down towards the evening, as did the sea, to give us a lovely evening for a stroll into the village. Due to the lack of clouds, the day slipped seamlessly into night, with just a beautiful orange glow back lighting the trees on the horizon.
The readings at 10am on Saturday 16th April 2016 are:- Temperature 17.2°C and humidity 67% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.4°C and the minimum was 12.3°C The maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 56%
The reported UV for today is 7 ( Range 1- 11+). I know I will get tired of issuing these warnings, but it is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen. UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).

Good morning from Roda. Again we woke to blue skies, sunshine and a gentle breeze. The visibility is good with Albania appearing clear across the channel, and our hills and mountains only slightly hazy. There is some very thin high cloud, but I don't think it will interfere in the lovely day in prospect. Yesterday was beautiful all day, the breeze was a little stronger early afternoon but probably only noticeable if on the beach, then died away to almost nothing by the evening. In the sun you could really feel that UV factor of 7, whilst it was still a bit cool in the shade. The sea had calmed down completely so we were able to have our dip in the sea. I am not saying it is getting any warmer, but once in it is OK. This warm spell has resulted in a profusion of flowers everywhere. Along the beach at Almyros there are so many flowers that there are great drifts in multi-colours of mauve, white and yellow with blue and red dotted amongst them, so beautiful. And, of course where there are flowers there are butterflies and bees. Our daily walks are delightful. The visibility improved so much around dusk that Albania was so clear across the purple and lilac coloured flat calm sea, and behind us the mountains appeared within touching distance. The presence of some clouds last night gave us a wonderful sunset to round everything off.
The readings at 10am on Sunday 17th April 2016 are:- Temperature 17.0°C and humidity 68% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.4°C and the minimum was 10.6°C The maximum humidity was 69% and the minimum 53%
The reported UV for today is 6 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. We awoke to blue skies with thin high cloud and sunshine. There is no breeze at the moment and the temperature is rising. It is suppose to get up to 23/24°C today! The visibility is pretty good as we can clearly see Albania across the calm blue sea, and our mountains are much clearer than usual at this time of the day.
Yesterday was lovely all day, but despite the sun, felt a bit cooler in the slight breeze coming off the sea. But, again in the sun, it was roasting , so we enjoyed a very pleasant walk along to Fuego in Acharavi to walk off our breakfast from Pirates. There is a fair bit of tidying up to do along the beach road before the tourist season is upon us. Notwithstanding that in some places you felt if you stood still long enough you would get dusted down and painted!. Several parties were ensconced on the beach with quite a few taking the plunge and there was a smattering of bars and eateries open as well. It almost felt like summer. The evening was just as pleasant as the day, though on our walk back from the village it did seem a bit chilly, so I was pleased I had my cardigan with me. Mind you it was 9 o'clock at night!
The readings at 10am on Monday 18th April 2016 are:- Temperature 17.8°C and humidity 65% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.6°C and the minimum was 10.8°C The maximum humidity was 69% and the minimum 53% The reported UV for today is 6 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. It is the start of another lovely day. We awoke to blue skies with the occasional wispy cloud daring to show itself. The breeze is the gentlest and the visibility is very good. The sea appears calm and blue and inviting us to go for a swim later on.
Yesterday was mostly fine, although the cloud did thicken in the early afternoon so the temperature dropped, but there was a slight change in the wind direction and the blue skies were back. The temperatures predicted for Corfu never quite reached Roda, but it was still hot in the sun and the few sun beds that had been put out were inviting. It stayed warm quite late into the afternoon and was still in the low twenties around 6 pm. The evening proved to be slightly cloudy partially obscuring the moon, so it was a little chilly walking back from the village mid- evening, so I was pleased I took my cardigan. The readings at 10 am on Tuesday 19 Th. April 2016 are:- Temperature 20.7°C and humidity 56% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.0°C and the minimum was 9.8°C The maximum humidity was 67% and the minimum 58%
The reported UV for today is 6 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen. UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).

Good morning from Roda. It is a glorious sunny morning, but quite a breeze has sprung up and the visibility has decreased so Albania and our mountains are hazy, though looking to the east Karousades on its hill top is surprising clear in the sunshine. The sea is still its amazingly blue but now we have quite large waves with their crests of startling white. Yesterday must have been the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching 27°C. It was so hot on the beach that we had to go for four swims! The clouds did come across by late afternoon, but the sun soon saw them off and we had a lovely mild evening. Carried my cardigan back from the village after our evening walk, not required! It was still 23°C at 9 o'clock and 18.5°C at mid-night.
The readings at 10 am on Wednesday 20 Th. April 2016 are:- Temperature 18.4°C and humidity 67% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 26.8°C and the minimum was 13.5°C The maximum humidity was 66% and the minimum 35%
The reported UV for today is 7 ( Range 1- 11+). It is hot in the sun, take care and apply that sunscreen. UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice).
