Well, back home on Monday from our 17 day holiday to Roda - would never have believed how much difference adding 3 extra days would make - we all felt as though we had been there for ages - next time maybe 3 weeks hmmm.
Weather was by and large glorious - indeed it felt incredibly hot for September - we had a storm in the first week and another on the evening before coming home when we had a power cut for a few hours.
Met up with Steve and Jan, Pete and Debbie, Kath, Rob and Andrew - amongst others - not forgetting our fellow Geordie Dot! Although staying at Angelina Apartments we spent most of our time at Charlies pool - it was like having a private pool as it was sooooo quiet there - poor Charlie still seems to do everything singlehandedly - a dear, dear man.
As I had a flare-up of an Achilles heel problem I needed to keep my walking to a minimum so we didn't venture very far but hired a car for 3-4 days and had a mooch further afield. Kelly and James had a trip to the donkey sanctuary with Pete and Debbie and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We ate at our favourites - Roda Park, El Mar, Nikos Family Restaurant, Pixieda and this year tried The Old House (haven't been there since it was Kind Hearted Place and George was there) and Skouna (don't know why we've never eaten in there but we all agreed it will be a one to return to). Went to Oscar's for the Boy George night and had a great time with Pete, Debbie, Kath, Rob and Andrew - that was the night of the storm in our first week but it didn't dampen the spirit. First and usually last orders were at The Boathouse (on the way to/from apartment). Brunch and post-meal drinks were largely at Crusoe's to look at the view, have a natter with Sara / Alex and catch whatever breeze was on offer.
Thank you all for making our holiday so memorable and enjoyable (you know who you are). Time to start saving for the next one.
