Hi just wondered if anyone knows if these apartments have a hairdryer or iron ?. We booked through Travel Republic which states that they have but other sites don't say this. Also we arrive late (10pm earliest) so wondered if that might be a problem as regards getting the room key. We are due there on Thursday and I did email them direct but have had no reply.

Can't help with the iron & hairdryer question but your arrival time will not be a problem, the pool bar will be open at that time and Makis or another family member will be there. pete.

Did you email direct to makisstudiosroda@yahoo.gr, or to rodaonline? I could not collect messages to the website yesterday as I was travelling, but I have forwarded your request tonight.

The problem of getting to one's room if the place is closed for the night is usually solved by the owners leaving a note and the key in the door. I would not be surprised if you asked at the bar/ reception area to borrow an iron they would have one, it is not an uncommon problem. Roda at the end of the season, as previously said, is lovely with still enough bars and restaurants open to give one a good choice, even for a 'pub crawl'. The tribute acts will have gone but now is the time to unwind and get to know the locals who have the time to cha, though I think Sandy's still has the a weekly music night, as does O Arabas. But if you are coming for a week of hot sun you will be disappointed, if the sun shines it can be pleasant, but expect some rain. A good time for walking through the lovely countryside and exploring some of our pretty villages.

Jan's description is perfect - our only visit in October was lovely - there was some sunshine - lovely for walking around but not hot enough for lying around the pool - and we had some rainy days and a couple of epic storms. The best thing by far was having some long chats with the locals as they were quieter and so had more time.

We had an amazing stay with Makis, first stay in Roda as we have stayed about 30 times in Kassiopi but always drove to Almiros and walked round the bay into Roda every day, then later back to Kass to change then drove back to Roda to eat ....... So we decided as we spent most of our time in Roda we should stay there and it was so relaxing, the apartment was lovely and Makis and his family are so friendly. We did find ourselves driving into Kass early evening to see friends who were staying there but we are trying to convert them to Roda now as it is so flat and he has walking difficulties.
