Well back in chilly Britain after a gorgeous holiday in Roda. The weather was particularly kind to us with glorious sunshine every day. Although it was quiet with many owners just starting to dust down their premises ready for opening we enjoyed the air of excitement there seemed to be with everyone getting ready for the new season. Owners had time to stop and natter. There were only a few restaurants open but that meant we tried places that we wouldn't normally have tried. Pixida on the crossroads - 2 very good meals there. The grill room - maybe the first night with Steve and Jan a wee bit too much to drink that day to fully appreciate it so we went back the next night and had a very substantial meal with wine for just over £12 all in, and Drossia of course. We hired a car for 2 days to explore the island and visited Pelekas which was a lovely authentic Greek village and a wonderful place to stop and chat with the locals and also did a little property hunting - ready for our retirement First stay in Angelinas apartments which were very well maintained and we would definitely return. We also made a new little friend at Pirates who was particularly fond of my breakfast sausages

Fantastic review carol. We love Pixida lovely staff that run it - over the years they have had a lot of staff changes, however, they are all lovely and the food is to die for, there is a lot to be said bout watching the chefs prep your food fresh. We stay in angelina apartments every year have done for 17 years now. How long were you in rods for? Kindest regards Kelly xx

That's the sad things about holidays, they always have to end. I have until September to wait for mine, can't wait away nearly 3 weeks (17 days), it can't come soon enough. Are you going back again in the summer Carol for longer?
Regards Kelly

Can't really justify it at the moment Kelly. We are in the middle of renovating a bungalow and have all the expensive bits left to do now. Conversion of old kitchen into utility and dressing room. The outside of the bunglaow needs to be replastered and then the drive and areas all around the property nned to be blockpaved or similar. We have booked a canal holiday for September so it looks like it may be next year now but never say never

Wow Carol a lot going on at home. I bet it will be worth all the hard slog when it's completed. The one good thing about roda is that it won't go anywhere, it will be there as it was awaiting your return. Good luck with all the renovations I hope it all turns out the way you have planned it. How long do you think the finishing touches will take you from this point onwards? Kindest regards Kelly x

Realistically about 6 months I think. Then we may sell and do it all over again! We haven't quite decided yet but yes as you say, Roda will be the same this time next week, next month or next year. That's what I love about it
