Good morning from a very cloudy Roda. We have 100% cloud cover, although there is a hint of brightness up there. Albania has all but disappeared into the murk, but our hills are not too hazy. There is a cool breeze. Yesterday started off lovely but then got cloudier and cool, but the sun did eventually get out and we had a fine but cool evening. The temperature at 9.40pm was 21.4oC. Quick amendment, we must have had rain during the night as our stairs were wet. Can't have been too much, and came from the north as the washing I left out on the south balcony is fine.
Today's readings at 9.40am on 27th May are:- Temperature 19.6oC and humidity 74% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.6oC and the minimum 15.1oC, the maximum humidity was 69% and the minimum was 53%. The forecasted UV for today is 5 (Range 1- 11)

Good morning from a much nicer Roda, weather wise. We have blue skies, sunshine and thin high cloud, and a gentle breeze. The hills behind us are fairly clear of haze, and Albania is visible across the sea. Yesterday continued to be cloudy and gave us a steady drizzle all afternoon, which cleared up to give a dry but cool evening. The temperature at 10.00pm was 20oC.
Today's readings at 8.55am on 28th May are:- Temperature 19.3oC and humidity 75% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.1oC and the minimum was18.1oC, the maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 65%. The reported UV for today is 7, so slap on that sun screen!

Good morning from a sunny Roda. Sorry this report is late but we had a power cut as the electricity board were doing something/ replacing some cables above our garden. As I have said today we have blue skies, sunshine and the odd high cloud, the hills behind us are slightly hazy, but Albania has all but disappeared. The very strong winds of yesterday afternoon and evening have gone leaving a breeze to help cool us. Those strong winds meant we were cooler than other parts of Corfu. Our maximum temperature was a couple of degrees cooler than the 23- 24oC seen in the centre of the island. It was 19oC at 10.15pm.
Today's readings at 11.10am are:- Temperature 20.4oC and humidity 59% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 21.1oC and the minimum 16.2oC, the maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 58% The reported UV is 8 (Range 1- 11), so despite the temperatures being in the low 20's at this UV level the sun burns. So slap on that sun screen!

It is wonderful. We have had a few blips with the weather, but generally we open the curtains to blue skies, sunshine and warmth.

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have blue skies, sunshine, a light breeze and nothing much in the way of clouds. The Corfu hills behind us are quite hazy and Albania has all but disappeared again. Yesterday was a cooler day despite the sun doing its best, so it was a bit chilly in the shade, but if you found a sheltered corner it was very pleasant. The wind died down during the evening and it was 17.9oC at 11.00pm but went down to a very chilly 13.6oC during the night. There were the usual sunset and evening skies that we almost take for granted, they force us to stop and stare so often. Again, because of the cooling winds Roda was several degrees cooler than the temperatures reported at the airport where it reached the mid 20's C.
Today's readings on 29th May at 10.00am are:- Temperature 19.5oC and humidity 66% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.7oC and the minimum 15.1oC, the maximum humidity was 67% and the minimum 50% The reported UV for today is 9 (Range 1- 11) so that sun will burn, please take care.

Good morning from a sunny Roda, we have blue skies, some high cloud, the usual haziness and a slight breeze . Albania is mysterious across the channel. Yesterday was a lovely day, one of those days when it is pleasantly hot, but not too hot. Not sure that the UV felt as high as 9, but you can't be too careful though. The day ended with a glorious warm evening with a spectacular sunset. It was 18.3oC at midnight.
Today's readings at 9.25am on 31st May are:- Temperature 19.3oC and humidity 67% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.2oC, and the minimum 13.6oC, the maximum humidity was 71% and the minimum 45% The reported UV for today is 8 (Range 1- 11)

Here are the monthly weather statistics for Roda May 2015. The maximum daytime temperature was 28.4oC and the minimum night time temperature was 12.6oC, with the average day time temperature 23.5oC and the night time one 15.6oC.We had a mixed month of cooler spells, wind from Africa leading to high temperatures. We had some cloudy/ rainy spells, eight days had some rain, mostly just a few drops, but we did have one afternoon that was wet. What happens when I am asleep and dries up before I open my eyes I have no knowledge of! Most days though have been very nice for this time of year.

Kalo mena and kalo kalokairi to everyone. Today is the first of June and the first day of summer here in Corfu so I have just wished you all 'have a happy/ good month and a good summer'. Today, in Roda, we have blue skies, high cloud, sunshine and only the gentlest of breezes. Albania is visible across the channel, and the hills behind us are hazy as usual. It promises to be a lovely day. Yesterday wasn't a bad day, we had plenty of sunshine only marred by the odd cloudy spell and very little in the way of wind. It was a very pleasant evening, but we didn't get the lovely sunset skies of the past few days, too many clouds. It was 20oC at 10.00pm.
If you look at my previous post last night I have put the monthly figures down. The maximum temperature in April was 28.4oC and the minimum was 12.6oC. The average daytime temperature was 23.5oC and the night time average was 15.6oC.
Today's readings at 10.10am on 1st. June are:- Temperature 21.4oC and the humidity 62% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 23.4oC and the minimum 14.6oC, the maximum humidity was 70% and the minimum 61% The reported UV for today is 7 (Range 1- 11) So use a high factor sun screen!

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have blue skies, very little high cloud and a gentle breeze, and of course the usual mistiness over the Corfu hills and Albania. Yesterday was a mixed day, we had a lovely sunny morning and early afternoon, then the cloud increased, enough to give us a miniscule few drops of rain around 5pm. At the same time a breeze arose for a while, then everything cleared and that breeze died down to give us a lovely evening with the most amazing sunset as there were still some clouds around. It was 20.1oC at 11pm.
Today's readings at 9.40am on 2nd. June are:- Temperature 20.8oC and humidity 66% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.6oC and the minimum 16.2oC, the maximum humidity was 70% and the minimum 54% The reported UV for today is 8 (Range 1- 11). High factor sun cream required.

Good morning from another sunny day in Roda. We have blue skies, sunshine, some thin high cloud, and a gentle breeze. Albania is just an outline across the channel and our hills are very hazy. Yesterday was almost a repeat of the day before. It started out lovely warm and sunny, then the cloud built up by late afternoon, and the breeze stiffened. By early evening we could hear the thunderstorm over Albania and got a lightening show as well, and we had a few drops of rain, though I understand at Almyros just a few miles away along the coast they had a downpour! Then it all died down, the skies started to clear and we had a marvellous sunset and a very pleasant evening. The temperature at 10.30 was 21.3oC.
Today's readings at 9.10am on 3rd. May are:- Temperature 21.3oC and humidity 72% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.6oC and the minimum 16.1oC, the maximum humidity was 70% and the minimum 59% The reported UV for today is 8 (Range 1- 11), so high factor sun screen required. Don't forget that the temperature in the sun is at least good 10o higher than the shade

Good morning from another sunny day in Roda. We have blue skies, some thin high cloud and a gentle breeze. Albania across the channel is just a misty outline and the Corfu hills behind us are quite hazy. Yesterday was lovely all day, and I think we had our first true summer's evening. At 5pm the shade temperature was 24.3oC, but in the sun it was a mighty 38oC! The evening was balmy and calm with no wind to mention,, but we had residual clouds that gave us another amazing sunset. The temperature at midnight was a pleasant 21.3oC, and the coolest it got to was 17.7oC just before dawn!
Today's readings at 10.20am on 4th June are:- Temperature 22.5oC and humidity 77% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.3oC and the minimum16.8oC, the maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 46% The reported UV for today is 8. Bearing in mind the big difference between shade and full sun, slap on that high factor sun screen.

Good morning from a cloudy Roda.. There are a lot of clouds but there are breaks in it and the sun is trying to break through. There is very little wind and we have the usual haziness, so Albania is just an outline and our hills are indistinct. Yesterday was lovely. It was hot and sunny until late afternoon, it felt much hotter than the actual temperature reading because of the high humidity. Then the clouds arrived, followed a bit later by a short light shower for half an hour followed by strong winds. We were lucky, apparently Kassiopi had a downpour! There was a thunder storm on the main land giving us thunder and lightening. As the evening progressed the winds died down and we had lightening way over Albania but too far away for us to hear the thunder. The temperature at 11pm was 23oC.
Today's readings at 9.40am on 5th June are:- Temperature 23.5oC and humidity 70% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.9oC and the minimum 17.7oC, the maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 53% The reported UV for today is 7 (Range 1- 11) So slap on that sun screen even if it is cloudy, you can still get burnt!

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have blue skies, sunshine and some thin high clouds, and very little in the way of a breeze. It is hazy with Albania just an outline across the channel. Yesterday was sunny after the sun burnt through the early morning clouds to give long sunny spells with the odd cloudy one. We had the usual breeze increasing in strength and then dying away. The haziness dies away late afternoon as well to give beautiful views of the hills behind us. The evening was lovely warm with little wind, a nice but not spectacular sunset. The temperature at 11pm was 24oC.
Today's readings at 10am on 6th June are:- Temperature 23.4oC and humidity 64% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 28.0oC and the minimum 18.9oC, the maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 44% The reported UV for today is 8 (Range 1- 11) don't forget the high factor sun screen!

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have blue skies, the odd high cloud, a gentle breeze, and the promise of a hot day. Albania is barely visible and our hills are hazy as usual. Yesterday was lovely with the odd cloudy spell, the afternoon sea breeze was not as strong as usual, and we had a settled warm evening with a nice sunset, but not spectacular. The temperature at 10pm was a balmy 23.5oC, and it only got down to 20oC at dawn! I expect today will be like the other day when I did a little check on the temperature, my weather station said 28oC in the shade, as confirmed by my check thermometer, but the one I had placed on the other side of our apartment in full sun read 41oC! Remember the temperatures I report are shade temperatures.
Today's readings at 10.15am on 7th June are:- Temperature 25.6oC and humidity 60% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 26.9oC and the minimum 18.7oC, the maximum humidity was 68% and the minimum 53% The reported UV for today is 8 (Range 1- 11) so make sure you use lots of sun screen!
