As I thought, it seems that Pangalos is not for sale, but it will be managed by someone else this summer. I understand that Spyridoula has insisted that it continues to by run in the same style and that could be the owner of 'Palaia Skouna' who will take over.

We've just been for a look ourselves, Pete and it is very impressive ... smart, clean and businesslike. We also noticed that Tassos's little shop, opposite the 'Kalamaki' grill room, is now a lot bigger with the addition of a new frontage.

Is this the "little shop" you're talking about Steve - taken at the end of the season last year?

It's good to see that our palm trees along the seafront have survived the palm weevil so far - we have seen many scenes of devastation in Spain, France & Italy over the last few weeks.

As Spyridoula lives in the Pangalos building Gill, I think we will see her in the village throughout the summer. She was very noticable in tonight's procession through the village, which is part of the Easter tradition here.

That's the shop, Chris, but they have extended to take over the old ACS office next door.

There was lots going on in the village today as, with Easter now behind us, businesses start to prepare for the season. The oleander bushes along the seafront have been trimmed and most of the kerb painted white (until they ran out of paint!). Theodoros's pool has been filled for a little while and there is activity there every day, Sunriders are now open for business, as is Top Gear. Dromeas has had cars available all winter, Loft car Hire are opening up as is the Local Products shop alongside. There is activity at Enigma, Panorama and Eleni Apartments. George & Pauline have Christofis Apartments looking very nice, Nikos was hard at it at Yummies, although he won't open immediately, GP Family supermarket is stocking up, Skouna have replaced their decking and canopy, Roxannes are up to something, but not sure what and Five Roses looks ready to open. Roda Beach takes in its first guests on Thursday and many of the staff and animation teams were in the village tonight ... all in all, a busy day.

Sounds good Steve. We were hoping that some of our favorites would be open by Monday - Skouna, El Mar etc. We won't be arriving until around 9.30 on Sunday. Do you know if there will be anywhere open then for food?

Hi Carol - you may be just a bit too early. Speaking to Kostas at El Mar, and Dimitris at Skouna, it may be another two weeks before they open. Both are preparing, but there are very few people here yet. At the moment, Pirates' is open for breakfasts, Drosia opens every day for lunches and evening meals, the Grill Room is very busy, plus there is O Arabas open every night I think, and maybe Pixida at weekends. Maybe Five Roses will open soon too, but their menu has changed somewhat in the last year or two.
