Hi Pagey
I wouldn't worry. We book separate flights and accommodation every year and have tried various apartments and we have never had any problems but should the worst happen and you are double booked there are plenty of places to stay in the village and the locals are lovely and wouldn't leave you stranded

We put our holiday together ourselves for the first time last year and, as well as getting better value for money on everything, overall we had our best holiday to date. I'm sure you'll have a great time! Antony

The Kalliopi apartments are just behind the old Chinese restaurant on your right heading to Alexandros pool apartments, they used to be owned/run by Stella & Val, for the last few years they have been used as overspill apartments for The Silver Beach hotel, like most apartments in the village they are basic & clean and in a quiet but central location. pete.

We stayed in Kalliopi apartments about 8 or 9 years ago and they were fine. Would stay there again.

It would be interesting to know who is running Kalliopi this year as I have always thought how well positioned they are. When Stella & Val had the apartments, they introduced me to the owner - an Orthodox priest from Chicago - who, unfortunately, chose to let them to Silver Beach the next year ... a big blow for two of Roda's most colourful characters. It would be good to see them back in the mainstream.

The mainstream? Surely The Silver Beach Hotel is bang in the "mainstream"?

Silver Beach is certainly mainstream, but they use Kalliopi as overspill, which is why many people don't know where they are. Perhaps it would be better to say that it would be good to see them resume their identity and offer the same opportunity they did when Stella and Val ran them.
I've never neard of the family name, Mennos, Pagey - I'll try to find out more when we're back in Roda.
