Hi
I've got a couple of questions if that's ok.
Firstly, how far is the walk to Acharavi? It looks really close on a map, is it walkable and is it just a case of strolling along the beach? Secondly, I'm considering getting a Mastercard Currancy Card which I would preload with Euro's. I know there are a couple of ATM's in the village. Are these reliable? I'm paranoid about being left pennyless lol Also as the card would be a Mastercard too, how many business's would accept this?
Thanks
Becky

Hi Becky, I think I'm right in thinking you are in Roda in May. The walk from Roda to Acharavi along the beach road will be a pleasant one in May and will take about 20 minutes or so - unless you stop at one of the many watering holes en route for some refreshment or just to sit and watch the world go by.
There are cash machines in Roda - we prefer to use the machine next to Loft Car Hire on the main road down to the beach and have never had any problems with it.
regards, Kath.

There is only the Alphabank ATM by Loft Car Hire in the winter, but the new ones seem now to all be 'Eurobank.' I assume this is Eurobank Ergasias, one of Greece's four main banks and it will be interesting to see what rate they charge when they re-open in May. Don't worry about being stranded penniless - it won't happen and, in any case, local people would rally around if you had a crisis.

Anyone know the rate they give at the moment at the Cashpoint?

With the bank rate pushing 1.40 at the moment you will probably get 1.36 at the A.T.M's less whatever commission your particular card charges. pete.
