Evening all, My wife and I are thinking about dining at the Alegri tapas restaurant in Acharavi tonight. I here good reports on tripadvisor.but I'm told it is tricky to find, does anybody know which end of Acharavi it is and what's the food like? Best wishes, Andy.

Hi Andy, I've not been personally, but it did have a lot of good reports. The name is 'Alegria' and it's very easy to find. As you come from Roda along the main road, it's the first place on the right or, if walking along the beach, turn by Navigator and you come out almost opposite. Across the road is Rizo's hardware shop. Let us know what it's like ...

Hi Steve, Thanks for the tip, we did find it last night, we were told it was between roads 5 and 6 ! Which confused us. We thought it was delightful. It's a tapas style restaurant. We ordered six plates, consisting of, meatballs, charcoal prawns, chicken wings, stuffed mushrooms, chicken and bacon skewers, and a Greek salad.to be honest 4 plates would have been enough, the portion size, and quality was superb.with bread and dips, and a litre of dry white, it was 39 euros. Then after they bring you a small bottle of warm honey infused Raki, which has cinnamon, Cloves, and orange in it.its really good, and their is enough in the bottle for 3 glasses each. This is on the house. We must return, due to the menus being so varied and extensive. The restaurant is decorated beautifully, and the staff are very warm.its worth the stroll up. Ps see you in the morning at Pirates. Andy.

Glad you enjoyed it Andy - I just hope it will be open in the winter. I've not had tapas since being in Spain very many years ago, but I think the rule with mezes is to have one dish per person, plus one. That way there is plenty for all, each gets to choose a favourite and each can try new things. The bigger the group, the better it gets.
