Just wanted to let everybody know about a really good transfer company. Due to the size of our party, ( 9 adults ). It was going to be awkward booking taxis from the airport to Roda and vice versa.as the maximum capacity per taxi is 4, we would have had to book 6 taxis for the total journey. We booked a private minibus door to door through suntransfers.com. The bus was a fifteen seater, new, with good air conditioning, and ample luggage space. The driver was friendly, punctual, and a safe driver. The total return cost, was 196 euros. If you are in our position it is a good saving. Regards, Andy smith.

That's good to hear as we have booked a 19 seater to transport 16 of us to Roda with Suntransfers and was a bit worried what it would be like. Having read this I feel a bit reassured!

Hi Mapleoak, I too was a little unsure.but don't worry, it's a good company. When we arrived, our driver was waiting with a name board, even though our plane was 45 minutes late arriving. It was a brand new bus. Some of our party are smokers, and I was gasping for a beer. Our driver stopped at the top of the mountain going towards Roda,at a beautiful taverna, and allowed us 20 mins. He didn't have to do this. On our return journey, he actually arrived at our hotel 1 hour 15 minutes early. He ate breakfast and drank coffee with us, then loaded all the bags.!! Their is also no need to reconfirm your return pickup, it's all so easy and stress free. Have a great holiday! Andy smith.

Our return transfer from San Stefanos a couple of weeks ago took 3 hrs 25 mins. We quite enjoyed it, went to Aghios Georgios and then back to San Stef, on to Sidari and then to Roda. I'm glad we went through Roda as really brought some good memories from our visit about 4 years ago, so much so that we've booked to come back on 25 August for a week. Wouldn't repeat transfer but a great outcome - can't wait!

Was it a private transfer Winmau? Or we're you on a coach with multiple pick ups? That sounds quite a journey!!!!

We were on a package with Thomsons and the coach was £60. Last year we had a long transfer with T Cook from airport to resort (went past our accommodation in San Stef to Arillas then back again, after the usual Sidari drop offs) so we decided on a taxi this year. I had a look on Travel Republic and it was £30 return, so decided to risk it thinking it couldn't be any worse than last year. Outward was OK, 2nd drop and before Sidari. It was AtoB through Lord Travel.

You need door to door Winmau. I went to Roda last October, I sat next to a couple on the plane, who had a coach transfer picking them up. I got to my hotel at 1.30pm, in my taxi , and after a quick change, I spent the afternoon by the pool. The couple I sat by on the plane, finally turned up on a coach at 5.20pm. Their transfer was an hour longer than the flight!!

Cainycrunch highlights an important consideration. He had virtually an extra half day to enjoy in Roda than the people he had flown with. There must be a value for that ...

We were on a late flight out so arriving at 1am or 2am didn't make much difference to us, we were still able to get a drink and a gyros.
I suppose you have to decide whether paying 110/120 euro for a taxi is worth it.

I agree Winmau, But if you can maximise your taxi by taking four adults, I think it's as cheap as a coach. If their are only two adults, I understand the implications of infringing on valuable Mythos coins!!!!!! LOL.

we now always factor in the 100 euros for the taxi , we want to be in roda as quick as possible. Don't want to be on the long bus transfer been there and got the tee shirt as the saying goes

I believe that late arrivals do benefit from taxi transfers, winmau - arriving at 1-2am in a taxi is one thing, with food and drink still available, but getting to Roda say over two hours later can be very tiring. Many people have been on the move for 24 hours by then and they can be so tired that they sleep through the first morning of their holiday. That 3.5 hour transfer that some experience can steal a sizeable chunk of their holiday, especially as they may also have to leave Roda early for their return journey.

After a nightmare coach transfer one year (4.5hrs), due to fellow passengers deciding to get off coach every drop for a cigarette. So then decided Ontario. First year by Alfa taxi fine.Second year used Roda taxi. Waited 40mins for taxi, then we stopped for petrol, then a change of driving. We beat the coach by 15mins. Sorry not paying 110E again..
